I know we have talked about this guy many times on this board and how his game is crap right now. I usually look at the leader board of the PGA event going on Thur-Sun if i'm not watching it and always scroll to the bottom to see what the last place guys shot. I always expect to see Smylie sitting there and sure enough, he's next to last place right now at the Traveler's. Today though, I decided to look more into his stats and see how terrible he has been and HOLY shite he's bad. Out of the 21 events he's been in this year, he's made the cut in 3 of them. Somehow he has still made over $200k this year, which probably isn't enough considering the expenses a pro golfer has. He may be mooching off his spring break buddies for some of the travel. How much longer can this guy keep his tour card? Send him to the minors and let him work on his game. /rant over.

He will lose it at the end of this season unless he finishes in the top 125.
His scoring average is 74.5 right now

To be fair, he still has endorsement deals so I doubt he is mooching off of anyone.

Supposedly part of his struggles are because he switched coaches.

The guy has a win on Tour and is sponsored by Srixon, Natty Light and Polo. I think he can cover a plane ticket and hotel each week.

If we assume $150/night hotel 7 nights a week for what... 25 weeks so far this season? Let’s assume 25 plane tickets at $500. That’s still less than $40k of what I assume are tax deductible expenses. So he is doing ok if he has made over $200k. It’s moot though because there’s a 99% chance his sponsors are covering all travel expenses.
