One thing to watch for is their hips...hip dysplasia to be precise which I think is common to golden retriever pure breds. Also, my dog was NOT a hunting dog and I can't say that I put her in positions to be super active, but she was walking around a lot up until the last few months of her life. She had some hip issues the last few years or so of her life. We treated her hip issues with a medication and some hip/joint treats and it seemed to help her a lot.
If you use the dog for hunting and a lot of activity then I imagine they'll run their hips and joints down pretty fast. Just do what you can to take care of their hips and joints and keep them active and eating right etc..
I think my pup really enjoy us and enjoyed people which kept her around for so long. I hope yours lives for 20 years...

He is at the Epcot flower and garden festival in Disney! Is the OT gonna let him get away with something as egregious as that?
I love Disney but I thought the OT hated it?

It was actually over with by the time we hit Epcot, but they hadn't taken all the flowers down yet.
