Hitting the ball while still moving to gain an advantage.

I say no because of the rules in place. The tv announcer thinks he should.

No he absorbed the 2 shot penalty but in reality it was pretty shady even though he is far from contending.

frick no. If he had a remote shot of winning ok, in the dew sweepers for the final round no.

Phil has been openly critical of the USGA in the past, so maybe. I dont think they should. He took his strokes and is miles away from being in contention.

Yes, but not for any shot violations. He should be DQ'd for wearing those turrible shirts.

Fuk no the strategy was perfect if he had left it right near the hole on the swat. This rule will be modified imo

At this point he needs to shut up. The committee discussed it and penalized him as they felt necessary. He accepted that penalty and signed a card that is accurate according to what they agreed upon. That may save him.

As we recall, when Tiger Woods hit into the water off of the flagstick at 15 at Augusta, he elected to drop and play his original shot. The rules call for you to dropping as near as possible to the spot. He dropped two yards further back and admitted to such. But at that point they had already penalized him and that made it tough to DQ him even though they should have because I don't like him.

You're an idiot. A fat one, at that. RA yourself.

Strange is good. Azinger is good. Joe Buck is a poor man's Jim Nantz.

No, he shouldn't be DQ. He took a 10 on the scorecard, which is correct with a 2-stroke penalty.

Was it a dickmove out of frustration? Sure, but who cares. He can afford it.

His post-round admission makes things stickier. Phil isn't one to shut up, but he needs to, here.

I’ve always been a fan of Mickelson but that was a dick move he pulled. Also, I don’t buy his rationale afterwards . . . he lost his cool and then tried to justify his action as being thought out. I bet he wouldn’t even bitch if they DQ’d him.

Others in the field, the USGA, golf fans, etc.

Totally irrelevant.

Should have been DQ'd, pure and simple.

Doesn't matter that he was in contention or not.

What if you're the guy that finishes behind him and lose out on say ~$20k because Phil beats you and should have been DQ'd?

Phil cheated and the USGA didn't have the balls to DQ their cash cow.
