You're getting a lot of grief ITT, but this is absolutely correct.

Another way to make progress would involve acknowledgement that the majority of immigration restrictionists are totally in favor of punishment of those not only trafficking in undocumented laborers, but those employers who demand them. And refraining from slandering those who call for tightening immigration as racists, xenophobes, and "anti-migrant".

That's only part of the issue, so long as progressives like yourself want to throw illegals on welfare programs and give them drivers licenses so they can vote there's plenty enough incentive for people to come here illegally.
