Spin Off Thread - Pulling for other Countries

Due to the threads about pulling for Mexico, England, and Spain that have been posted I figured I’d start this thread.
List the top 5 teams you root for so you can actually somewhat enjoy the World Cup every four years, despite being American, and state why.
1. USA - Obvious
2. Netherlands - My Dutch Ancestry
3. Germany - My German Ancestry
4. Colombia - My girlfriend is Colombian, I am an honorary Colombian according to her family.
5. (Tie) Belgium / Croatia - Love the players, especially De Bruyne & Modric.

Since I'm black and don't know my ancestry for obvious reason...I just cheer for any team with black players...

I got into the sport by watching the 2006 World Cup in France, lived in Marseille, was a French major, had a brief fling with a very cute French girl... so yeah I’m a les bleus fan. USA is always number one though.

USA
South American team A - usually Argentina
European team A - usually Netherlands
European team B - usually Germany or fun surprise team
South American team B - usually Brazil
It just depends on matchups, but if USA is not involved I will always pick a team I'd prefer to win for some reason or the other.
Except Mexico - frick Mexico.

Small pop. Automatic underdog vs the top tier that have 10x pop. Hoping they get by Portugal in 2nd round.
Ill be rooting for Iceland vs Nigeria to get 1 or 2 pts.
Iceland even fewer pop. than Uruguay.
I hope England exceeds expectations. Poor buggers.
Hope Columbia does well. Still remember someone shot their goalie after own goal.
They can fly.

Wasn’t the goalie who was killed. The guy (Escobar) who was responsible for own goal was.
