He stumbled into this mess and then started to go off. If you read articles on his brewery, you get a picture. Pretty aimless guy. Delivered beer on and off. Went to a teepee temple near Boulder, didn't graduate. Marries up wearing a Napoleon tux. Is a stay at home dad for a period then gets dough from the in-laws to start the brewery. Great, he's digging into something, some people like it.

Marriage goes rocky, dove of love falls off the perch. She has the kid at K-F. He sees an opening to pull rank on the ex. He has no power or leverage in that deal. She got the $. He sees the Native American terms, is not personally offended but he's a good SJW and its everyone's responsibility to call out racism. He Tweets his view on the situation. That was all he intended to do. Did not contact the school to discuss his concern prior to tweeting. That probably would have been the last of it but the paper called and NOW he's going to show the racist white people at that rich privileged school. shite hits fan and the cat digs in issuing a river of accusations including saying he was acting to make sure future generations aren't trained to be racist. Specifically accused the school of perpetuating systematic racism. Goes on to insult the entire K-F community (rich, white, privileged and racist).

I don't speak for anyone at K-F, not employed by them but I've been around K-F frequently for years. There is no racism there. Most of the parents are hardworking middle-class people who want to invest more in their children. There are lots of Muslim children because their parents want a good school but they don't want them in Catholic schools. There are girls there who wear the headpiece that Muslims wear. They have all kind of International Day activities designed to make the students aware of other cultures. Great discipline. There is no bullshite in the classroom. They say the Pledge of Allegiance every morning. They got a symphonic band and every sport we play down here. When kids leave there, they are some of the best-prepared students that hit area high schools. The France family has provided this environment since 1949. Very fine family. There isn't a whif of racism there. There is a great sense of tradition which is how the Native American names were carried forward.

His story twists depending on the angle that the Facebook inquisition is taking. Initially, he assumed he would be a hero and he went grandstand mode. When asked if he approached the the school, he will say that the school had been approached before. Maybe they have, maybe not but he learns this after the fact. He went straight to social media. Then when he has to abandon that line he says that he doesn't have to follow white procedure to fight racism. Drastic times call for drastic measure.

I don't GAF about the names of the camp groups. I doubt anyone else does. They gotta change em to avoid further attention and hassle. This isn't the beach to die on. They want to develop kids, not be a protest site. The truth is, there is no systemic racism, there is no racism to detect. No one used the Indian names to offend or perpetuate anything but a safe, structured, fun summer.

I'm long winded here but he attacked innocent people. Principled people who's life's work is of value to children. When he was contacted by the paper, he positioned the issue in the most sinister terms that one could apply. It's not the names. It's not that he didn't feel it was right for his son. It's not that the names shouldn't be changed because who cares and yes, it could be interpreted wrong. No one has defended racism, there was never any to defend. No one is for racism. This racism is a product of Scott Wood's mind. He did an awful thing that will happen more frequently if it isn't checked. If a female lies about sexual assault, she should do the time for the crime. This does not make me a fan of rape. He slandered good people and accused the entire K-F community of being rich, white, privileged racists. I'm saying NO dude, you don't get to do that and not be called to account. Cower to false accusations of this nature and it will continue.

Scott lacks all nuance, His thought are not his own. He's basically a hapless kind of guy. Maybe this won't hurt his business. I don't think it matters. From his history as told by him and the look of the place, it'll fail. He's lazy. I'm making noise (he blocked me) until I feel satisfied. I've been watching this trend on Twitter. There is a legitimate culture war. This is what the skirmishes look like. They tear at traditional institutions. Their aim is to undermine Western Culture which they deem to be an Oppressive Male Patriarchy. I swore if someone falsely accused myself or people I care about of racism, I would check it. They'll be pointing a finger at you if you're not careful.

I know some people that have attended/sent kids to K-F. I'll add my two cents.

1) I am not a fan of any for-profit/family-run school.

2) I have never, ever detected once ounce of racism from anyone at that school.

3) Everyone that sends their kids to that school, seems to either be avoiding something/some group. That, or they are seeking some sort of status.

The really rich kids in Jefferson Parish send their kids to Metairie Park Country Day. A lot of the wannabe rich kids send their kids to Kehoe France.

This. I hope KF sees it the same way.

Scott there is a lesson you can learn from our black brothers and sisters. It’s more valuable than anything you learned in weed college.

Excellent post. I totally agree with your comments concerning KF (I know I sent two kids there) and your comments concerning the SJW problem.
