If he was legit going to national guard duty, he was legally protected from missing work.

We have a good number of people in my office who are in the National Guard. When they have to take military leave for one reason or another, they just provide a copy of their orders and they are good to go. So, it sounds like the guy would just need to provide a copy of her orders.

Yeah, try to enforce that.

Also, let us know how it goes when they report it.

Most of my orders, even when I was heading somewhere we were not at, were not classified.

Still FOUO isn't for everyone to see

that and combining unclassified materials can make something classified. Esp someone's deployment schedule and travel.

if he was fradulently skipping work saying he had NG duty he could be reported to his command and subject to UCMJ violations right? I don't know the structure of the guard and how they adhere to the UCMJ if at all...

Then things have changed a lot since I was in. I used to have to show orders to commercial airlines during transfers and deployments depending on how I was traveling.

Hell, a buddy spent a year as a courier and showed orders to airlines on the east coast to board flights to London with a metal brief case of highly classified docs attached to his wrist.

Not likely AD, but unit deployment. Depending on what he does,He might can provide you with a current office phone number or new CO if you want to be a real douche and check up.

If SF then her having multiple days to let you know and an exact return date is BS.

Most likely if you think an employee of full of crap and taking luxury days, then you’re already way behind and it’s been going on for a long time. If you are a commie Biach and hate America, call the new CO and explain.

Nb4- enjoy your arse chewing.

Maybe for TAD/TDY to get TSA pre check.

Why would you show orders at an airport for a deployment? I've never heard of going to an airport for a unit deployment, usually you get bussed to a flight line on an airbase.

Just to clarify the employee is not the service member?

If not, I would question the “deployment” the AF generally calls anything not at home station a “deployment.” So he/she could basically be going to Barksdale for a week “deployment”.

The service member’s Commander or supervisor should be able to provide you with a letter stating the spouse is deploying.

If the employee is the service member, verbal notification is all that is required.

We always got bussed to the fligtline and then got on a commercial jet.

And it was never on the weekend.

Yeah, let's take away this Special Forces thing here. Not being an arse, but a female airman with a retard bf has a 0.0000 chance being special forces and a pop up deployment

This sounds like more TDY stuff for official travel

Courier is something totally different than deploying.

When I stationed in England and deployed i didn't show my orders at Heathrow to fly to Frankfurt. I was booked through SATO and just showed my CAC along with the booking info, I paid for the extra bags with my gtc.

One of my airmen had to deploy with weapons and flew out of Heathrow and had to show blacked out copies of his orders with other paperwork.

Deployment orders is the official documents. Should have a start date for sure.

Same. Bussed to Mirimar then Commercial to Kuwait then C17 to Iraq. And bussed to Mirimar again Commercial to Kyrgyzstan then C17 to Afg for mine.

That's why I don't know why that guy said airport. Only time I pulled out orders at an airport is if it was TAD for info and to get TSA pre check to my TAD location
