Depression is a real biotch. I have depression and I was suicidal earlier this year but luckily I recognized it and got help.
Good for you for getting help and I hope you are doing better.
I've been there (as a side effect of my anti-depressant oddly enough) and I'm thankful I recognized this isn't how I should feel and reached out for help.

Blame moral decay and social media. Direct correlation between removing morality and God from schools, social media, and the growing suicide rates.

How did they remove God from schools? I thought God was everywhere?

I’m a Christian and even I believe that religion shouldn’t be in public schools. Separation of church and state.

The real world exists inside your head, everything else is a charade. I often think deeply depressed people are just misplaced in their world

We definitely need to tell people they're mentally fricked up. That helps.
No one has ever acted out maliciously in an act of violence and blamed it on their mental health. Ever.
You start giving society the out of mental health issues, it will be abused. It already is being abused.
Grow the frick up and deal with your problems in a way that does no harm to yourself or others.
It's really not as complicated as everyone wants to make it out as.

Not everyone who kills themselves is deeply depressed. Some are temporarily despondent or just looking to escape a horrible family or financial situation.
I've got two friends who lost sons over damn breakups

So you are saying all I needed to tell my Dad was “grow the frick up and just deal with it” and he would have instantly been all better?
I should tell all his doctors this amazing revelation

I don't know your personal shite, nor do I want to. Or 99.9% of people in this World.
I will tell you, that your father probably had overcome adversity before and didn't off himself. Which goes back to being an adult, grow, learn, be sad, move forward. No need to kill yourself. It's NEVER that bad.

Got it. I’m speaking to an ignorant person.
You clearly know NOTHING about mental illness.

Seems the personality types most at risk of suicide are those who may be afraid to talk to others about their issues, or resolve their issues

Analyses of data from 330 university students found four interactive suicidal behavior risk models: introverted-perceiving (IP) (females); introverted-sensing-feeling (ISF) (males); introverted-intuitive-perceiving (INP) (males); extraverted-intuitive-judging (ENJ) (males). Study findings were interpreted in terms of implications for risk assessment and intervention.

This thread is a self-help group. You won't make them understand but I get what you are saying.
I've had a plethora of extremely fricked up things happen to me in my very short 32 years of life that I could easily flag and say eff it all, but I used it as fuel to push through and learn.
Posted on 6/8/18 at 8:12 pm to lsunurse
Kewl. You seem knowledgeable, probably read a book or two. I'll value your opinion, sincerely.

People who say things like that have no clue. Honestly, there was a time when I thought people did it as "the easy way out" and that it was a selfish act, but I learned it is a lot more complex than that.
In some cases, I think there are people who feel so horrible about themselves, that they are convinced that those they love would be better off without them. It might not make sense at all, but to them.. because of what they are battling, it makes complete sense..
You tell someone "grow the frick up" that will only make them feel more isolated.. More alone.. Some people unbelievably have no clue at all.

More of a pity party actually. I don't pity people who have killed themselves. That's their prerogative. Go ahead.
The argument of mental health being a stigma is beyond absurd, especially in the PC society we live in where people bend over backwards for ANY medical condition.

I agree with this. It was their decision and it's over. Those left behind have the burden

And you're giving them that clue, by telling them to grow the frick up. It's not hard to see when someone is fricking up, for whatever reason.

You don't have to be clinically depressed to end your life. Sometimes it is just sadness and people not having proper coping mechanisms. This is why I think it should be introduced into school. Teach kids how to cope. We teach sex ed. Why not teach a few weeks on mental health.
