But apparently I won't see new games for two years.

Not that you saw at E3 . I said all along Sony had a perfectly fine E3. I just felt it had the problem of literally having no idea when those games that got shown are coming. They teased Dreams the entire conference but thats all they showed was little people playing music instruments before trailers
Correct me if im wrong but the only game playable this year they showed was Spiderman right?

I'm stoked about new Mario Party. We still play 8 on the Wii. Wish Smash was sooner than December but I'll take it.

That demo they did for Spider-Man at the 2nd part was sweet.

I’m not here to debate that list because it’s glaringly obvious the PS4 is FAR superior in amount of exclusives.
But are you really gonna include AC: Odyssey in there?
More jumping off and around roofs assassinating random people in a semi open world like all the past iterations.
I honestly don’t know how you’d compare the two. It was really apples to oranges in my opinion. Nintendo did Nintendo things and showed off games that Nintendo people like that are slowly but surely building a solid console library. PS4, even though their whole direct was a bit whacky, was showcasing their stuff they’d blown people away with previous years.
I’d say solid As for both in different senses. The whole big 3 was mostly solid across the board, with Microsoft falling behind again. But even with their slightly lackluster conference, I’d still give it a good B.
So in essence, leave the crazy humongous budgets to the mega companies like Microsoft as well as those huge games (Resident Evil, Spider-Man etc.) and all the firs party Nintendo titles combined with solid smaller 3rd party titles will keep everybody happy. I’m sure the one probably the Nintendo crowd would want the most was the jump force game but the fighting style for me personally hasn’t been my cup of tea since a dated naruto game from back in 2005.

So you didn't watch anything on that game, so I won't bother with the rest.

Death Stranding is still a fricking boring reputation hyped game.
I hope it flops.

I just called out 2 AAA we'll see by the end of the year

Fallout wasnt even shown during the Sony conference was it? Nor was AC. Neither of those are exclusives either
Posted on 6/12/18 at 12:46 pm to FourThreeForty
Nintendo should have just stayed home, that was a waste of time for anyone not interested in Smash.
Posted on 6/12/18 at 12:54 pm to Greace
My bad. Got confused on what we were discussing. Those are games I saw at E3 that I'll get to play on my PS4 this year

BTW, did they even show anything on Mario Tennis or the Toad game?
Posted on 6/12/18 at 12:57 pm to sicboy
Yeah I understand I didnt realize the Mario Party was coming out this year either. I thought it said Spring 2019.
They showed release dates. Nintendo doesnt treat the E3 Direct as anything special. You will see more of Tennis and Toad at their treehouse events.

Nintendo treated their E3 Direct as showing games that were coming now. Sony treated it the same way they did last year. They showed the same games that we still have no idea on a timeline for them.

They did a recap but not much else.
They’ll save a good bit of reveals for a gaming awards show or a Tokyo Gaming conference near the end of the year. That’s usually what they do as of late.
I feel like a lot of people are trashing both the Nintendo AND Sony directs unjustifiably. I mean I did last night, but both did what they needed for their relative fanbase.
And say what you will, Smash alone is gonna sell some systems. There isn’t a fighting game on the market that comes close to it in scale, technicality or ambition.
You could make a case for the MvC games but who the frick cares about that compared to damn smash?

Difference is I have new games to play NOW.
I get Mario tennis in a few weeks which I'm super hyped about.
Turn based fans get octopath
and you are really discounting the rabbid fanbase for smash.
This wasn't 2017 good, but it was good enough to get Nintendo to next year's e3 which was the point of this one.
I really wanted a Pikmin 4 update or a port or remaster of the first three, but I'm only sightly disappointed about it because if Fire Emblem!
ETA: also Nintendo does like 3-4 directs a year now, and e3 is all about the NA market, which is smash: so this one kinda makes sense

Nintendo hasnt treated E3 with too much respect since they have moved to the Direct system. They dont even save the big stuff for E3. They could of easily not released any info about Pokemon and used E3 to show it.
