Heading to Kiva Dunes for a week. Anyone have a course condition update, from the past week?

They just punched the greens. Playing next Thursday and it’s the last day they’re discounting the green fees.

Worst case scenario.

Damn - hate to hear it was punched. I play there again in mid July.
I played there last week and it was in prime condition.
Kiva Beach Club is legit - your woman will love that part of Kiva - the drinks, food and service are good.

Dang it! I can always head over to Peninsula I guess.

Even if punched the greens will be ok. Kiva is one of my favorite courses but you gotta keep it straight cause the woods is very hard to hit out of. Also, the greens are about a year old and they are still VERY hard. You gotta hit approach shots well short of the flag cause it ain’t gonna stop.

The problems at Kiva are when they punch the fairways
And as fischd1 said, keep it in play even if it means taking a Club or 2 less

Played it in December/January time frame and had no issues stopping it on the greens, it’s a great course.

Checked out the greens this evening, and I was surprised how good they looked. Good equipment will expedite the process.

With all due respect, Kiva can suck it. That place is so freaking penal, it’s a joke. Don’t waste your money or time there - plenty of other realistic golfing options around - Peninsula or Gulf Shores CC. 4 handicap here, FWIW, and I avoid Kiva like the Herp

I’ve played pretty much every course around here except Kiva. Since we are staying here, I’ll at least play 1 of my rounds to check it out. I figure it couldn’t be any worse than “Lost Ball”, and I shot a 77 there.

Hot is straighter. Not every round is supposed to be rip driver and not worry about where it goes.

Peninsula
Good condition, boring resort design.

Shouldn't you be working that track camp at Klein High School this week, MM...

Spot on - peninsula can be so damn boring.
That said, I love playing it because I am fairly well assured of a low score for the ole handicap.
