I'm in the process of trying to overcome that hurdle. On one hand, Xfinity gigabit just basically offered to give me the TV service for about $30, but I REALLY liked having YTTV... unlimited cloud dvr, great guide/interface... and the wife was pissed about HGTV/Hallmark.

For anyone interested, I did find another service I haven't tried yet called "Philo" that has HGTV, Hallmark, Comedy Central, Discovery, TLC, etc IIRC. Only $16/month... which for me seems like way too much for those channels, but if you have a significant other/spouse who would shite bricks with YTTV, it might be a viable alternative... but then you hit over $50/month on tv again... damned if you do, damned if you don't.

For the next 30 days, I'm hard testing the Xfinity service (since $30/month differential just is lower than what I wold have paid with YT and Philo...) on my super non-technical wife with a roku stick in the master bedroom... I'm honestly baffled sometimes with how much she has trouble with basic TV remote functions for someone as intelligent and well paid as she is. It may still be an epic failure... as such, I'm going to keep YT for the month as well in case I decide to do internet only with them and keep the YT service... no reason to lose my $35 rate.
