So that he isn't remembered as a role player for the rest of eternity
If he leaves to be a #1 option, he'll be another good player who can't advance in the playoffs.

KD is still an MVP and a historically great scorer. KD is the one you pick.
And Klay is still more important than KD in this system.
A healthy curry-Klay on gsw's squad is more balanced than a healthy curry-KD.

It's almost like people don't realize that KD is outplaying Klay in this series, the playoffs overall, the regular season, last season's playoffs, and so on...

I really like Klay, but I'd be concerned if he was the #1 option on my team.
I think he probably knows that grass isn't greener elsewhere.
Plus his family has never hurt for money. Father played in the NBA and was good with money.

I think most know he's out playing Klay individually.
But we know the ceiling of that team without kd, not sure of the ceiling of this team without KD.

Come on what? He's already in the top 25 in 3PM in only 7 seasons, and will crack the top 10 in makes before he's 30.
Only 3 guys have a better 3P% with more than 3700 3PA - Steph Curry, Steve Nash and Kyle Korver
When it's all said and done it may very well be he and Steph as the best shooters of all time

People have short term memory loss. KD carried GS in the Finals last year. He was dominant. There were legit posts on here where posters legit thought he was better than LeBron. He played good D, shot incredibly efficiently, rebounded well too. All that led to a Finals MVP.
Ariza has done a good job on Durant. That doesn’t make Durant a shittier player. That’s like saying when Kawhi basically shut down LeBron in the Finals a few years ago that LeBron was a scrub. No, good defense changes things, for everyone.

Well he said arguably like he already is, you are making assumptions that he will continue at his current pace

What is your argument otherwise?
Taking out Steph, who we all know is #1, let's take a look:
Klay has the 11th best 3pt% of all time and averages 6.9 3pt attempts per game.
The 9 guys ahead of him and their 3pt attempts per game(again, not counting Steph):
- Kerr 1.7
- Hubert Davis 2.4
- Drazen Petrovic 2.0
- Jason Kopono 2.1
- Kyle Korver 4.6
- Tim Legler 1.9
- Steve Nash 2.9
- BJ Armstrong 1.4
- Steven Novak 2.9
Honest question, are you saying it's a no brainer so much to laugh at me that you'd prefer a 44% shooter from 3 shooting 2 attempts per game over a guy shooting 7 per game at 42%? You sure that's the hill you want to die on here?
Korver is the only guy you could argue over Klay as #2 at 43.1% on 4.6 attempts. But I'll take Klay's 42.1% on 6.9 attempts.
What's so funny about Klay at #2?

KD carried GS in the Finals
Maybe it's just semantics but when I think a guy carried a team, I think he put them on his back and did everything. Steph was absurdly good in the FInals, and Klay was solid as well.

If you're referring to 2014, Lebron averaged 28ppg on 57% shooting. Was that the one he was shut down?

Anyone can stack ppg. You and I both know Leonard had his way with LeBron offensively and defensively in that series

He was owned that series by Kawhi. He didn’t average that many points per game but yet he still won Finals MVP. For one reason, he kept LeBron in check.

It was shut down but now it's kept in check?

So you’re denying that Kawhi didn’t affect LeBron in that series? You’re trying to tell me the reason Kawhi won Finals MVP was because he averaged 17 ppg? lulz

He hasn’t played long enough but you guys are going solely off 3 point total #s which will skew towards current players when you say shooter I don’t think just about 3s. Bird did not attempt nearly as many because the game was different. It would appear the zone defense along with emphasis on analytics has meant more 3 point attempts and makes. Birds overall FG% is better as is his FT%. I’d love to see him in today’s game.

The data doesn't lie.
The data shows he has the 3rd best 3P% onhis own franchise
7 years isn’t enough imo he needs to keep it up though it’s hard to not think he’s gonna get more open shots cause he’s the 3 option
