To put it in perspective Super Troopers 2 made 17 million opening weekend.

Super troopers =\= Star Wars.

OD number is getting better

quote:

Source tells me #SoloAStarWarsStory is heading to about $38M neighborhood for opening day FRI incl THU pre-shows. 4-day #MemorialDayWeekend might finish in $110-120M range. That would be very close to 4-day non-holiday $110.2M opening of #StarWars Episode II with 2002 prices.

But way off the 170 the collider shills were predicting while hawking merchandise at Denny’s.

Oh it'll be a low number for a star wars film. No way to spin it. The OS number is what's gotta have them sweating more though. It's an embarrassing total.

That’s part of it, but also the idea of a Solo origin movie undermines everything that makes the character cool. I do not need or want to see how he met Chewie or how he got the Falcon from Lando.

What arc?

Stand alone Rogue One had more an arc to ANH than TFA had with TLJ. And just about everyone fricking died.

Yeah there’s really nothing left to the story at this point. The whole thing felt like an ending. Unbelievable they fricked up a wet dream.

Yeah I was very excited. I still love Brick and Looper. He’s right in that Star Wars was ripe to be deconstructed but he did it in the worst possible spot and way. I don’t think I’ve ever been more disappointed walking out of a theatre.

Yeah when Disney got Star Wars RJ and Duncan Jones were my two top choices to direct. I’m a moron.

I mean Looper is a really good sci fi film. There was every reason to think he would go a great job with Episode 8.

I'd love to see Dennis Villenueve and/or Brad Bird

If there’s 1 postive, the Plinkett review is going to be incredible. And he’s not going to whine about women like some do so they can’t come back and say well y’all are just sexist.

If only Lando had more pansexual scenes.

Disney over inflated their marketing and has been running a strategy of fraud and abrasive nonsense since TLJ came out. I'm glad it's catching up to them.

I called that out when the presale numbers were released and got downvoted

Easiest prediction of the year, to date.

Will wait for dvd. Or, based on current ticket sales, dollar theater.
