re: Fans don’t think LSU is a blue blood

We are not blue blood. We had an outstanding decade. After an awful decade. Most of our talent rebuild is now set. We only have 12 seniors thanks to Bad recruiting and early exits. Defense is loaded if we can keep our DBs healthy. Finally have some QB talent that could be above average. And some competition at QB.
We will beat Miami by 10 or more in Dallas. Can we beat Auburn on the Plains?

Nebraska lost their recruiting pipeline. And their red shirt program. They used to recruit California and New Jersey. And Texas. They will come back if Frost can get the California pipeline going. Will not,be easy.

Not sure what Blue blood actually means, and who really gives a frick, but LSU is 16th in all time wins.

where is the talent going to come from
You obviously don’t pay much attention to Nebraska recruiting. Their top returning WR, ranked as the best in the Big Ten, is from New Orleans. They pulled the #-1 ranked QBs out of Cali in back-to-back years, and the true freshman QB who very well might start this year is also from Cali. Ameer Abdullah was from Bama. Plenty of guys from FL. Here’s the recruiting map compared to Iowa

Isn’t LSU 9-10th in all time wins?
ETA 16th.

Dude they had 40+ years in a row of 9 or more wins, and have sold out every home game since the early-1960s. 5 national championships and 5th in all-time wins. Your argument is laughable.

Demographic trends do not support Nebraska ever being a dynasty again. Those days are over.
Oh, I agree 100%. That said, there’s no reason why they can’t be on the level of a Wisconsin, competing for conference championships on a regular basis.

Nebraska is a blue blood but they'll never be what they used to be. Even though you're pumping up their recruiting they haven't been relevant since they joined the big 10.

'm in my 30's, and you dont earn being a blue blood and get to keep it forever regardless of what happens every decade after, you cant take decades off and still be considered a blue blood.

quote:utter nonsense. And I'm not a fan of either, but they're both blue blood programs.
Can’t consider Penn state or Notre Dame as bluebloods.

Michigan is First by over 50 wins. They’re a blue blood.

I Louisiana would make the Louisiana families pay back all welfare if their "blue chip" son doesn't attend LSU then LSU would be a "blue blood"

I wouldn't put Florida as a blue blood. They had a good stretch with Spurrier and another stretch with Meyer, but other than that - nothing much.
Same with Miami. A good decade run in the 80s-early 90s and then a few good year around 2000, but that's it. Not nearly enough to qualify as a blue blood.
And Georgia's nowhere close.

They dropped off because they refused to change and the game passed them by. Sticking with the option offense killed them. To many athletes now, the option doesn't work anymore.
That's revisionist history. They fired Solich after a 10-win season, two years after playing for the national championship.
Callahan introduced the West Coast offense and promptly had two losing seasons in four years, after not having any since the 60s. That was over a decade ago.

Blue blood or not, all I know is this.
LSU football is consistently listed as #1 in almost any category surrounding the football program.
Historic stadium, toughest to play in, bucket list for a college football game, best environment for opposing fans, best environment for opposing players, Golden band from tiger land, wildest student section, best live mascot, best uniforms, most memorable games for announcers. DBU, NFLU. The list goes on and on.
We even have some national championships on the field. Not one football program comes close to LSU as being one of the best in almost every category. Our fans should start acting like it.

Who really gives a shite? It means nothing on the field, and I seriously doubt recruits give a shite either.
