Blue blood or not, all I know is this.
LSU football is consistently listed as #1 in almost any category surrounding the football program.
Historic stadium, toughest to play in, bucket list for a college football game, best environment for opposing fans, best environment for opposing players, Golden band from tiger land, wildest student section, best live mascot, best uniforms, most memorable games for announcers. DBU, NFLU. The list goes on and on.
We even have some national championships on the field. Not one football program comes close to LSU as being one of the best in almost every category. Our fans should start acting like it.

Well LSU really isn't considered a blue blood like the ones listed are.

Blue Bloods don’t hire head coaches who failed miserably at lesser schools

Would a blue blood program hire Eddy O?

We are not a "blue blood". It takes more of a history and better consistency over the decades to be blue blood.
We are a potential powerhouse anytime we put the talent and coaching together. In our best years we can beat any blue blood out there.

That's about right. We started working our way in there, but...

So? As long as recruits do, we’re good. I don’t care what a thimble full of guys answering an online poll think.

Is the U one of the only schools to win multiple NC’s in the 80s, 90s, and 00’s?

LSU is right where they should be in that list. They are 13th all-time in win percentage of the big schools(I'm not counting Boise state and old dominion).
Michigan
Boise State
Ohio State
Notre Dame
Alabama
Oklahoma
Texas
USCw
Nebraska
Penn State
Florida State
Old Dominion
Georgia
LSU
And the shite about counting and touting national championships needs to stop because before the BCS era none of us really know who the true national champions were because they were picked by journalist and other cabals of biased shite stains.
LSU and Alabama or two perfect examples. Everyone knows Alabama claims way more than they actually deserve and some that are absolutely indefensible and ridiculous and there's actually two or three that LSU could have claimed in the early part of it 20th century but for some reason refuse to. Especially the 1908 one. Even the National Championship foundation and the NCAA recognize the 1908 team as the co-national champion and National Champion, respectively.

LSU is in a weird subgroup, just below the bluebloods, but above the "very good" programs. It's weird mostly due to the fact that the SEC is loaded with such programs... LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, guess you now have to include Florida (although they didn't emerge until Spurrier took over). Not a lot of other programs outside the SEC like this, maybe Washington, Florida State, Miami, Clemson.
I put this as a separate group because they all have plenty of hardware and titles, and at times can be the dominant program in the nation; this separates from the Michigan State, Wisconsin, Stanford etc group.
Maybe the large group within the SEC historically has kept anyone other than Alabama from emerging. I think it is worth noting a lot of bluebloods own their conference or regions (I accept Penn State because of their dominance in the East, not because of what they are in the Big 10; same goes for Nebraska in the Big 8 and Big 12, but not the Big 10). I think Nebraska and Penn State are sliding down into that sub-group now, becoming the LSU/Auburn/Georgia etc of the Big 10.
