re: How must Brennan, Narcisse and McMillan feel these days?

O has been saying for weeks he would pursue a grad transfer QB

Right. Pursuing a transfer communicates an immediate, dire need. They're not going after him to say, "come on in and let's see what happens." It's more like "we need help."

Bye bye either Brennan or Narcisse

Brennan and Narcisse should not be that upset. Let's say we do get the transfer and he is a two year starter. Assuming Brennan doesn't have to play this season, or next, both he and Narcisse are both in a position as RS Juniors to compete for the job. They would no doubt be better prepared to handle it at that point.
Unfourtuantely that's not the way most think these days and we might lose one of the two.

I just want a QB who can consistently throw for at least 200 yards and 1 TD a game. Seems like everyone else doesn’t have that problem.

All we've heard from Orgeron and Ensminger during Spring and since the Spring game is that our three quarterbacks are all about equal.
So, are they equal great quarterbacks or are they equal so-so quarterbacks?
After busting their humps all Spring to win the starting job our 3 QB's just learned the answer this week.
Their coaches don't believe they are good enough to be THE quarterback.
While I understand this feeling and have thought the same thing bottom line is this is big boy football and coaches careers are on the line to win.
Did you watch the Spring game? I didn't see anything to make me believe LSU is in good shape at QB this year. If I'm coach O and a Big time QB is thrown in my lap I am for sure taking him.

Honestly, if you have the opportunity to bring in a guy you think has talent, you do so.
It would be one thing if one of our guys was a proven commodity, but they aren't.

How much confidence will our 3 QBs have? How much confidence will the other players on the team have in their QB? How much confidence will fans have knowing the coaches don't have confidence in them?
A lot of negatives could come from this situation, IMO.

So a head coach going out and looking at all possible options to make his team the best he can is now a negative? Iam not an O lover or hater for that matter but come on. He is not saying anything about the current QB’s just that he is willing to see what his best option is. Maybe it’s the three here maybe it’s the transfer. Would be nice to see all four side by side to find out wouldn’t it?

So like I said earlier, if this falls through, how do you go back to these guys and convince them that you think they're good enough?
You can't unring this bell.

Wait a minute. Orgeron's pursuit of Burrow shows he realizes he has a short leash and needs to win now. He's not going to ,nor should he, "rebuild."
It was obvious none of these guys in Spring distanced themselves. Going after Burrow is a good thing.
We all know your disdain for Orgeron and hopes for immediate failure. But I don't get the point of disagreeing with everything he does just to disagree.
I have no doubt that had LSU made it clear they wanted to part of Burrow you would have made the point this was another reason why he needs to go now.

I'm not disagreeing with it. I'm saying it's risky. If this guy doesn't come, then you've possibly alienated the QBs already on the roster. He better be sure he can land this guy.
There's a worst case scenario that involves whiffing on Burrow and having one of our guys transfer.

I just wonder how a coach walks things back if this Burrow deal doesn't come to fruition.
How do you get these guys ready to play hard for you when you're telling them they're not good enough?
Why does that have to be what he is saying? Could it not also be that he is saying he doesn't trust that he will have enough bodies in the QB room come the fall and if he has a chance to go out and get a top talent to come into that room, then he should take it?
What he should say to them is, "I know none of you will promise me that you are 100% committed to this team and will not seek a transfer yourself; therefore, I'm bringing in another person in case that happens. And if all of you are as confident in yourselves and your ability as you should be, then adding a little more competition to the room shouldn't feel like a threat, but more of a challenge to you to show just how great you can be and how much you want to lead this team."
Do y'all think that the 3 QB's on the roster should have to tell O that they are 100% sticking with the team and will not transfer if and when it becomes apparent they will not be the starter? Most on here (if being rationale) would say that a player should be free to leave if he so chooses. And with the way QB's transfer at the drop of a hat these days, then O would be taking a huge risk by putting the team in a situation of not having some insurance in the form of accepting a transfer QB to replace any potential defections. And if he didn't, many on here (including in this thread) would be quick to criticize and jump on him for poor roster management.

How the frick can we never get a quarterback to actually develop here? It makes no sense

3 QBs isn't enough?
And if it was that much of a need why didn't he prioritize getting one in last year's recruiting cycle instead of making a last ditch effort to get Foster?

Face it, none of our current QB’s have lived up to their hype. It happens. O has to win the SEC this year to keep his job. Current QB’s can’t do that for him so he gets a stud on the open market. Some of you people are just nuts.

Bama took Tua the year after freshman Jalen Hurts was the starter. Big boy competition. Oh well

Jesus, no one will remember or think about it again a week after his decision. No one is this mentally weak to this pathetic level.
