I think Tua, the #1 QB in the nation, saw Hurts on TV and knew he could beat him out.

Exactly. And these goofballs think Saban should have said “no, don’t come in and try to beat out Hurts, it might hurt his feelings.”

A little competition never hurts anyone.

I think it's great that O is pursuing this qb.

No, he got gradual time then showed how he good he is. You really think he would have stayed to sit on the bench for 3 years?

They should, and likely will. But playing the QB position is pretty psychological. If Burrow goes elsewhere, it’s not like it’s going to be easy for whichever one of these guys starts vs Miami to shake the idea that the coach believed that he wasn’t ready to start the season opener.

And he was so good that he only got to play in the second half of the Championship Game because Hurts couldn't complete a pass in the first half.

And now they have a full on competition of players separated by one year.

If our 3 QB’s would have performed better in practice the last year, they wouldn’t be in this position.

That is how competion works.

Always have a back up plan. It's that simple.

this is big-boy football. None of our QBs performed well in the Spring game, and it's probably been the same all throughout spring practice.

If they're not up to the task, we need to bring in someone who is. I don't really care how they "feel." It's competitive college football at the highest level. Produce, or sit.

If one of them is named starter and they are worried about that while playing Miami......geez

Whoever that is still here and doesn’t wear panties competes for the job.

what happens if he goes elsewhere?

How much confidence will our 3 QBs have? How much confidence will the other players on the team have in their QB? How much confidence will fans have knowing the coaches don't have confidence in them?

A lot of negatives could come from this situation, IMO.
so we shouldn't pursue an apparent solid option at QB because it might hurt the confidence of the QBs already on our roster?

Should we stop recruiting QBs also, to protect the feeling of our existing guys? Good lord, this is idiotic.

Bring in as much talent as we can, at every position, and let them compete for their jobs. Very simple.

After busting their humps all Spring to win the starting job our 3 QB's just learned the answer this week.

Their coaches don't believe they are good enough to be THE quarterback.

I guess. Or maybe they learned that a QB from Ohio St with 2 years of eligibility left is seeking a transfer from Ohio St.

I must have missed the part where O and Ensminger said that Burrow would be the day 1 starter if he were to transfer here.

good god. Do you honestly think our existing QBs are so emotionally fragile that they'll curl up in the fetal position?

What will they do? They'll try like hell to win the starting job. And if they're good, the team will rally behind them.

Please link to where I said that. Thanks.

TBH....Brennan and Narcisse are not ready...McMillan could be decent but thats an unknown as well seeing who has passed him in recent years. I believe it will do Brennan and Narcisse some good to sit another year and develop...

It was not long ago that most qbs that played were jr or srs that waited there turn

They're fricking competitors for the QB spot at a SEC school and among the top programs. If they're competitors, they'll compete.

Fake arse LSU fan.
