Does the younger generation (<40) still put cayenne on their spaghetti?

I know this should probably be on the Food and Drink board but they tend to be a tad older than those on this board.

I didn't know anyone ever did this

I can’t eat spaghetti without cayenne pepper. I thought that was a common thing in Louisiana.

I have never heard of this before.

This is absolutely not a generational thing. I put cayenne on pretty much everything because I’m a glutton for punishment, not because I inherited some super secret flavor-boosting tip from living in Louisiana.

Not cayenne, but a heavy dose of red pepper chili flakes

Wow...I didn’t realize the admins could move your post from one board to another...big brother much?

I put cayenne in everything.

I don't think I've ever put cayenne on spaghetti. (I'm assuming you're referring to spaghetti with meat sauce.) However, I use red pepper chili flakes in some pasta dishes during cooking.

They can do anything they want. It's their board.

Yes, I’m using the common term for pasta with meat sauce. I don’t expect you to take a nap in a restroom.

No but myself and most people I know use red pepper flakes
Posted on 5/9/18 at 12:45 pm to LSUMANINVA
yes, sometimes I'll even squirt a little siracha in it.

I'm in my late 20's and have never made spaghetti without cayenne (or red pepper flakes), so there's that I guess. Not a fan of an overly sweet sauce. I much prefer savory and with mild heat. The way I figure the sugar content of the sauce should come primarily from the tomatoes and onions.

I just pour some Newman's or another jar of sauce in a pan with some red pepper flakes and cayenne or Tony's.

I never considered cayenne to be a generational seasoning.
I'd be more worried about the younger generation using sauce from a jar. Lazy bastards.

<- 37 I do but only once it's plated. My Landmass wife can't handle the heat

Same here, that’s actually what I was referring to.
