I went to Brugge as a 23 year old college grad. It's a great city, but your kids will get bored as hell after 1 night, especially with parents.

My suggestion would be Spain (Madrid, Seville, Valencia, or Barcelona) or as others have said, Prague/Hungary. Eastern Europe is incredibly amazing and affordable.

Also, please let your kids spend some time doing their own thing, especially the 2 older ones. I know you are paying for everything, but they should get to experience Europe as the adults they are and will appreciate the experience much more for it.

My parents lived in Madrid for 3 years. My sister and I went at 22 & 20 for 26 days. It was amazing, they made it all possible, but we needed time alone. We went on a 3 day trip by ourselves and had a blast. We're by no means close, but that trip certainly made our relationship closer. Just don't suffocate them.

What I disagree, they have hiking areas, canoe areas, walking tours, biking tours, etc... they have plenty to do if you are with seeing the sights and staying. The issue is most people want to say they say some historical area and then move on, they don't really get to know the city and surrounding areas.
