I thought I saw somewhere someone mentioning that he was 390lbs, and worried that all our NG's are too overweight. See the video half way down the page in the article below.

I loved this kids' film out of highschool. Our NG position will be a "huge" strength for years to come. I know he only received a 3-star rating, but this guy's film should have put him on the high 4-star to 5-star range. He is by far the most underrated recruit in the last signing class - and the reason I feel that Chasen Hines made an excellent move by switching to the OL.

Seems like a good kid, and he carries his weight really well (doesnt look fat or much overweight at 375). Cant wait till Moffitt gets a hold of 'em.

Click!

ETA: Shows elite first step, super quick for a guy his size, and has a nonstop motor. Check out the 1:46 mark, his first step is so quick - two different OL get their hands on him and he blows by them to rack the RB before he can even get moving in the backfield. You can teach quickness at that size. Treat yourself to watching his film.

@2:12 he breaks through the double team OL, and then knocks down the next double team of RB/QB in one motion.

@3:43 he is in the backfield before the RB has a chance and proceeds to throw him like a rag doll, and thats while shedding a blocker... I could go on

Best part is, that he hasnt begun to get his body into athletic shape yet. He is that agile for that size without the advantage of adding muscle in an elite college strength training program. I really think he is the steal of this class and has true first round potential.

So glad he chose LSU. He's one of those guys whose measurables draw you in on the 247 overall position rankings then you watch his tape and wonder how the hell he's a 3 star.

He's going to be fun to watch. The things I see he needs to work on is pad level, knee bend and keeping his legs moving. He relies on his weight too much, which won't work at this level, but that can all be taught and will get better with conditioning. He has a great motor though and fights through blocks. You can't teach size. We have some hosses at NG with Alexander, Shelvin and Livingston.

I watched his highlights right after we signed him, and I agree with the earlier poster who said he has a lot of work to do on technique. Heaven knows he has a ton of talent to work with.

I’ll dispute one thing you wrote. I don’t think Chasen Hines ran from Livingston, or would ever sit behind him. In fact, I think Hines is the top recruit in this class. I predicted Hines would make the switch to offense, because OG is his natural position. Don’t be surprised if Chasen Hines is in the starting lineup against Miami. He has quick feet, great balance, compact power, good natural technique, and a vicious mean streak.

Agreed with you both on technique. Its filthy what he can do on shear strength, motor, and talent with poor technique, which I have full faith the staff will correct by the time Shelvin moves on.

I didnt mean it that way at all. I think Chasen got sold on DT from Texas, which was NG in our class. I think once we got Livingston, who is more natural at NG, it made the switch back to OL easier considering our depth at NG.

Chasen Hines is extremely talented and belongs on the OL, specifically at OG. I meant moreso that I am happy he made the switch moreso because we have Livingston at his natural position and Hines now at his. In that same breath, I would love to see Rosenthal switch to OT because I still think we are thin there, talent-wise, and that is a more natural position for him than DE.

Lewis and Hines at the guard positions. Man that's nasty with a couple of 330 pounders. Honestly there is going to be healthy completion at the guard spots and center! Don't think Crush starts

Imagine a "jumbo" package with Livingston at NG, Alexander and Shelvin at DT and Lawrence and Fehoko at DE. That would make a seriously stout goal line/short yardage D.

Redshirting is meaningless these days. Greedy was a RS and he will go pro after this season. What good did it do to have him sit the bench his true freshman year?

Even if Dominic is not good enough to go pro after 3 it will get him some playing time to get SEC experience. If he is good enough to leave early it will be only be a plus.

SECCountry Article Update

His demeanor and attitude reminds me a lot like the last Tiger from the country, who chose LSU over Bama specifically to stay home close to his horses.

Hes such a big dude that he gets away with a lot.. Lots of bad technique used to attempt to block him. He stands up a lot and uses his strength and size but is helped by guys burying their down faced head straight into his chest. He will need some time to clean up his form but hes got a good quick first step and has some giddy up once hes rolling

I have no idea why HUDL thinks that they need to the the arrow thing on his highlights - he's the one who is 150 pounds bigger than everyone else
