We have watched this for the last 10 years and we all know it has not been successful at LSU. I think a lot of it had to do with the system under miles. Ground and pound.Strong defense and QB was just don't screw that up. Last year was canada basically using a bunch of formations disguising really a run first system.Once again dont screw it up QB.

I believe this will be the first year in a long while that LSU will be a QB focused offense. My only concern is back to QB development. It looks like None of the Guys are stepping up saying I'm the man. It seems like this Staff knows that the QB is the number 1 piece in being a great team but are they developing these guys or is it recruiting the wrong types of guys?? I mean Steve E. was a Qb but does he have a good record of tutoring Qb's? with all the consultants on staff why no QB consultant? did i miss this? Hope im wrong but so far our Qb's look very similar to what we had the last 10 years.

Wow!

Are we cursed at Qb?or is it the curse of just hiring the wrong guys to prepare the Qb's? after this much time and Qb's it has to be the coaching. I will get downvoted for saying this but had Ed O got Lane Kiffin last year as OC i really believe we would have seen major improvement in our Qb play.

They talked about lack of consistency which is already known.

QB’s develop when you put the ball in their hands early and often over a long period of time.

Our strategy has always been put the ball in his hands until he fricks up, then give the ball to the running back for the rest of the game.

It appears Etling developed from a cast off to a drafted QB.

Shouldn't someone at LSU get some credit here?

Has sucked after Flynn! LSU coaches have no idea how to coach QB's!!! If I was a top QB coming out of high school, I certainty wouldn't go to Tiger town!

I wouldn't doubt it one bit. We took a step back in coaching on offense. If Steve E is so good at developing qbs then why in the hell have we been struggling for years?

I think a good first start at developing a QB might be to get yourself an O line that can actually pass block....get that, and you’d be amazed at how good a QB can look when he’s not running for his life...

Maybe because he wasn't involved in coaching the quarterbacks.

2008 was really the last year we were very serious about trying to throw the football, and because of that disaster, it haunted Miles into never truly exploring it again.

People will go "oh but what about Mettenberger with Landry and Odell in 2012-2013"...we actually threw it 356 times in 2012 and just 326 times in 2013 vs. 391 times in 2008...all 3 season had 13 games in it.

2008 - 30.1 passes a game
2012 - 27.4 passes a game
2013 - 25.1 passes a game (this one blows my mind because we were PHENOMENAL throwing the football this season)

2008 is the last year we threw the ball at least 30 times a game, let that sink in in this age of modern offenses...

Really? 3rd offensive coordinator in 3 years, 3 unproven QB's, no marqee RB and a largley unproven WR corps.

I think we might miss winning more than we miss DE.

I actually like the idea that we are being under rated this year....it should give the players the fight to want to prove us all wrong...

We've historically had monster running backs, so I get being committed to the run. The issue has been predictablity. If we're inside the 10, you know what's coming, like 3 straight plays. 3rd and short, stack it up because we comin. The passing attempts don't bother as much as the lack of creativity with the offense in general.
