I just read that they are now doing bag searches at the entrance to the ICU so no one can bring in anything to help him.
They are going to make damn sure this baby dies with no comfort whatsoever. It's like they are going out of their way to make it that way.

Guardian article
I found this article this morning. The good part is the comments. The UK is fuuuucked. The apologist replies are the craziest circle-jerk that I've ever seen.
Paraphrasing my favorite:
Comment-"Parents should be able to seek care wherever they want"
Reply-"Go back to your Bible, Idiot. You don't understand this country"

Rachael Evans posted it last night at 8:59.
ETA: It's on the Save Alfie Evans FB page.

Thanks.
That's fricked up.

The family just put out a sad, and kind of creepily arse kissing statement.
Posted on 4/26/18 at 12:58 pm to drunkenpunkin
The parents just had a meeting with the hospital staff to negotiate taking the kid home.
Dad walks out and is forced to grovel. He praised the hospital and asked all supporters to go home and disappear. He won't be making any more statements or interviews.
The hospital staff care more about their own feelings and reputations than about the poor kid.
It's so sad. They all should be ashamed.

Looks you're on to something:

In a surprising turnaround, Alfie Evans’ father Tom Evans called for supporters of Alfie and his family to “stand down” so they can begin “building a bridge” with Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and its staff. The call comes just hours after Evans said the hospital “hates” his family and his treating them like “criminals.”
quote:
He said: “Our lives have been turned upside down by the intense focus on Alfie and his situation. “Our little family along with Alder Hey has become the centre of attention for many people around the world and it has meant we have not been able to live our lives as we would like. “We are very grateful and we appreciate all the support we have received from around the world, including from our Italian and Polish supporters, who have dedicated their time and support to our incredible fight. “We would now ask you to return to your everyday lives and allow myself, Kate and Alder Hey to form a relationship, build a bridge and walk across it.

I hope they told the parents they can take him home if they call off the dogs. Anything that gets that baby help is good.

He's doing it right now.
You can't blame the parents. We all know why they are doing it.
An alternative to this situation though , would be just to let the fricking kid go... the damn kunts.

It sure as shite means he's not dead so they'll just starve him to death.
Brain dead individuals that have no hope of ever recovering have reaction to light and noise stimuli.
What the UK is doing is fricked up and I can't comprehend what it must be like to be those parents, but people shouldn't run with this reaction to stimuli thing as a reason to believe he's improving.

. For the same reasons. It's the parents' decision on how to treat/not treat their child.
You can't do that in the US.
There are many cases where the parents decision has been overturned by judges.
Try again.

In many cases in the US, the families have to sue for the right to let the family members DIE.
Not the other way around.
Humane killings are some Nazi bullshite.
And ole Britain is slowly getting there themselves.
Socialize healthcare in the name of common good, but introduce all the wrongs associated with bureaucracy and politics.
In this poor lad's case....
We don't know what's wrong with him.... soo..... Death is in his best interest.
He won't last 15 minutes anyway.
Oh, 62 hours later and he's fine? He must be suffereing. Still death.
Italy is offering to assume the burden of his care? Nope. The journey may kill him.
Italy will fly him and pay for all of it? Nope. Don't care. Death.
Oh, you want to take him home with you... go grovel to us in the media because you hurt our feelings by disagreeing with us and fighting for your child's right to live.
May soon be coming to an American hospital near you!!!

To be fair, this is a crapshoot.
We took my grandma off life support and she lived for a whole week.

This is wrong.
And, my point was to contradict her point of family gets to choose treatment.
That's just not true.

The biggest issue for me is the government and armed police stopping the family from taking him home or to Italy.
The British gave up parental rights.
What the frick.

I am shocked not just by the hospital and NHS' refusal to let this family seek care elsewhere, but also by the very creepy way the Brits defend this bullshite. The comments on the FB and every article are half save Alfie and half arse kissing Alder Hey and the NHS. I can see maybe believing this child is absolutely terminal, but I don't understand the need for the state suck ups. It's like they're brainwashed. I have totally lost respect for them as a whole after reading the comments. It's freaky.

The smug is nauseating amongst the U.K. I've been following comments on The Guardian and Daily Mail, and those people are as emotionless as I've ever seen. It's pride-based it seems. I've haven't spent much time in Europe, but they all seem like zealots for their heritage. I suppose releasing Alfie to the Italians is viewed as some sort of weakness on the UK's part..? I'm speculating big time here, but after bouncing this topic all around, there's no other excuse I can think of other than egos and intellicual superiority at stake.

Is this true that armed police are really not letting them take the child? I think I would call the bluff on that. Are they going to shoot the father for trying to save his son?
Posted on 4/26/18 at 4:22 pm to BruceJender
I didn’t think the police in the UK were armed with anything other than a night stick?
