I don’t like the idea of going to war but chemical weapons is something that just cannot tolerated. I’m just not convinced who really did it.

Even assuming Assad used chemical weapons, we've killed more civilians in Yemen with drones than Assad has with chemicals. The chemical weapons red line is a pretext for more war, a way to tug at the hearts of people who otherwise wouldn't be inclined to support such action.

Sure it can. As can mass murder of 199 varieties that we "ignore " regularly. It's so strange to me that the American Moral Conceit is so outrageously high even after twenty years of nonstop war that we feel we have a responsibility to cure man of his human nature yet again. frick Syria. And frick the idea that we can somehow "save them" from themselves. We can't. Next week it will be another atrocity.
And don't forget the most important part- this is All against the backdrop of killing Russians . Not a wise path. These people shoot down airliners and poison citizens. I laugh at anyone who thinks we are somehow immune from the horrors of war.
