Well then you can post a link from whatever leftwing group did the "study" to "prove" it.

Foster homes really aren’t that much better TBH
I am sure there are horrible examples - need to be extra vigilant in policing foster homes.
Hell - I'd even prefer well run orphanages where kids were raised with respect and taught self-reliance to leaving them in a dope oriented, bad home environment where all they really learn is how to scam 'the system' and are taught by observation that they are not responsible for anything, should expect everyone to cater to their juvenile demands, eschew education and hard work.
/\ is the fertile field producing another failed generation.

true dat
I witnessed this decline in society from the beginning - and to my everlasting shame did nothing about it.
I concentrated on raising my own children, but was merely watchful as society around me began to show cracks. I should have become more vocal, got into peplos faces, caused a scene.
Instead, I went hunting and fishing and camping in my spare time.
And now I see where that collective failure to act has gotten us as a society.

This is a great move. Who would oppose this? Only the politicians who hope for votes by pretending to oppose.

Your on the right track. The only way ill ever be for drug testing for benefits is if they extends to all our government employees also including our elected officials.
Sorry but im nor down with the go after poor people first mentality. There are elected officials and their staff snorting coke off hookers, sleeping through congressional sessions, and laughing at how above the public they are. Why aren't we going after those shitlords first

To me it's not going after the poor first, it's going after the career leeches on our society.
I am all for giving people 3 years of total support as long as they are in a trade school, community college, or some other form of education to help them become self sufficient and a taxpayer. If they don't complete the program in 3 years then they will flip burgers or dig ditches for the rest of their life without government support.

Is this the first step toward being able to buy pot with food stamps?

This program is a dream come true for corrupt government leaders who love kickbacks.
You have taxpayers applauding you for setting this up, for a number of reasons, yet it is already understood that it's a money waster. No one is going to give a shite who gets the contract, what their expenses are etc as long as "they get rid of the cheats". And oh yeah, we know the recipients cheat on the tests, so we really don't expect you to catch any of them. What a sweet spot for a hack to be in!
"I'll bend over as long as you wipe my arse and get rid of the dingleberries" says the taxpayer

The program would have to "catch" roughly 120,000 offenders to break even, or just under 10% of those being tested and subsequently eliminated from the rolls.
Thats easy to fix. Make the recipient pay for the test. I have to pay for my concealed carry permit which is a constitutionally afforded RIGHT. There is no "right" to an EBT card. It is just a government program. If you are going to build a house you have to buy a permit to do so.
And to show that I am really a dick I would add to the drug testing requirement the following:
Proof of citizenship. No illegal alien should receive anything from the government. This same proof should be required for their kids to go to school. If they have a current visa they can receive EBT and school for as long as the visa is for. But all benefits stop when visa is ended or not renewed.
No EBT or assistance to anyone who is behind on their child support. No assistance to any woman who does not list the daddy on the birth certificate.

Bad news baw... there is also no right granted by the constitution for concealed carry. Ever notice how several states don't offer reciprocity with your state? Don't let facts stop your emotions.

Because this is where your tax dollars are really being wasted.....not in the 200% increase in the AG's office or the 400% in the Lt Governor's office ( what does he do....really). Not the abuse in LA film tax credits....naaaaah

You probably are, but that is another story.
The rest of your stuff is acceptable

Yep....but damn!!!!! It will make some people really feel good . Spend 5 million to save maybe 3 million A lot of the SNAP program is used by the elderly or elderly for the minor children they are taking care of.

Taxpayers already pay for phones, internet access, food, lodging, utilities, and health care for a lot of these people yet they can afford tattoos, jewelry, cigarettes, 32" rims, and a host of other things that are considered "luxury" items. I for one am sick of seeing the system abused and flaunted.
You can't get any of this with a SNAP card. Now you can use a SNAP card to buy food items and then go and sell those food items at a local independent convenience store for 60 cents on the dollar and receive cash for your troubles.

This is what was tried all over the communist bloc and it failed miserably. I don't trust the gov't to do this. The foster program is seriously flawed but its better than orphanages.
What is crazy is how hard it is to become a foster parent. My wife and I initiated the process but they said it would take 18 months to 2 years to get into the program. So we pulled out.
As for drug testing welfare recipients, its a gigantic waste of money. Urine drug tests are very easy to beat, unless you do strict monitoring of them (i.e. stand in the room while they pay).
Blood tests/hair tests are much better but they are even more expensive.
This is just a throw away to the base IMHO.
Final thing, if they test SNAP recipients, they really should test all transfer payment recipients - medicaid, housing, social security and medicare.

I would love to see the optics on all of this. testing the majority kids and elderly....I wonder if people know that right now the biggest growth in Medicaid is for minor children of working class families making under 75K gross. Yes, by all means test the 75 year old woman who was a stay at home mom and lives off her late husband's Social Security.

It's ridiculous that this wasn't mandated years ago.

Actually the right is mentioned in the second amendment, the "shall not be infringed" part.
But a-hole judges and others have deemed that I must have one in order to carry concealed.
I dont like it but I dont like a lot of things I have to put up with.
