I picked up a couple pieces of carbon steel pipe I'm going to use for a fence gate and was wondering what y'all would use to coat it with. Looks like I need some kind of corrosion inhibitor but not sure which one to use.

Carboline CM-15 industrial primer then go over with your color of choice or just leave the grey primer

Galvanized spray, coal tar epoxy underground, or just about any industrial paint really.

Back in the day we used this stuff called RUST. It formed naturally and it helped keep our lug nuts on before they had air impact wrenches.

If you concrete them in they'll outlast you even if you don't paint them at all especially if its heavy wall pipe.
Clean, prime, paint with any good industrial paint and it'll outlive a few generations probably.
