Dumb question, but once on the border, are they still under control by their respective Guv'na or how does that work?

Yeah, because they'll be searching for IED's in Syria within 6 months.

He's going to send 400 NG with cameras and instructions to get pictures of "abuse" and crying children.

Trump should demand at least 1000 from CA. Seriously.

400 is ridiculously low. That's like 1 every mile or something?

My buddy is in the National Guard out there. He said it’s going to be hilarious when it’s seen where they get deployed to.

Yes they are, Trump did not nationalize the National Guard, so they are under state authority, rather than national command authority. So ultimately the Governor of each state is the commander in chief of each state guard.

Incorrect

The national guard has NOT been placed under national command authority and they will not answer to the federal government in this instance.

What was once supposed to be a beautiful and protective 2000 mile long border wall has suddenly turned into maybe 100 miles of wall and the national guard patrolling the Mexican border

This is a dreadful circus.
