Too bad it wouldn’t just be a conventional war. NY, DC, Houston, Cumberland County, NC (Fort Bragg), Norfolk and LA would be whiped out within hours.

FBNC has some Tier 1 assets, so I wouldn't say it's out of the realm of possibility. Maybe not the highest priority but closer to the top of the list than the bottom.

Whipping out the largest military installation in the world is a pretty big statement. You are the expert though, so I defer to your experience.
I’ve read multiple times that Bragg has a bullseye on it if we ever went to war with Russia.

Hey, skinnypants millenial...AMERICANS lived under the threat of MAD for 40+ years. Do some research other than what your liberal professor spurts down your throat.
If we were to get into a legit war with Russia, we all lose bigly... That is my point. We wipe out Russia's naval assets as some on here suggested we are capable of doing, and it would more than likely escalate to a nuclear war.
Conventional warfare between two nuclear powers would end up not being conventional if it escalated to a major confrontation. Our conventional military superiorty would make it more likely that our opponent would use a nuclear weapon as a trump card against our military.

What is unsettling to me is that some who interpret Revelation and Biblical end times prophecy see Russia, Syria and Iran doing battle with Israel in Armageddon. At this point all of those parties are aligned for war, especially if Israel starts bombing in Syria.
