That is just not true at all. There were exactly 2 Buddy skeptics here leading up to the draft. I know, I was one of them. The rest of the board was as fanatical Pro Buddy as I've ever seen this board united in being Pro anything ever here.

I was one of the skeptics not because I was a Murray fan, I just didn't think Buddy's ceiling was that high and wondered if you could get the same caliber player plus extra assets by trading back for someone like Valentine.

I'm not saying there were no Murray fans, they just couldn't get a word in edgewise with the very excited Buddy fans. So it is wrong to say everyone knew Murray would be better.

All of that being said, the problem probably wasn't lacking in scouting but the hot seat Demps is always on resulting in a timeline that wouldn't allow them to pick a less ready player with a higher ceiling.

Why is Murray so much better than Buddy?
They both have a 16 PER this year, Murray is averaging 3 more points a game, Buddy is shooting 43% from 3, Murray 38%, and both are around a 0 +/- on the season, which Murray has a huge advantage in b/c he doesn't play for the shitty kings.

yes i think Murray is better, but Buddy is still a good player. All you can ask for in the draft is to hope you don't get a bust, and Buddy isn't a bust.
