He completed the drop on draft day trifecta.

Another year would have really done him some good if he is serious about football and made him some more money

Dont think he knew exactly how all this would play out when he made the decision. He likely still wont make it out of the second round.

just guessing based on what we know about his behavior, on and off the field - he appears to be one of those guys with all the talent but not the love of the game. he had the discipline to get so far but, let's face it, it's a lot of physical work and if you don't love the game enough ...

couldn't get motivated enough to ensure he got a good first contract.

but, who knows? he could get the motivation somehow, someway and have a great career.

$$$$ now and not having to go to school > $$$$$$$$ later and having to play for another year. (In his mind)

He ran 4.85 at 238 pounds as a speed end rusher. That’s about as glaring of a red flag as you’ll find.

The forty time and the unexplained hiatus are going to cost him some big money.

He didn't even want to play at LSU last year. Why would he do it another year?

4.85 is disappointing but when has he ever showed straight line speed?

You just need to be quick rather than fast rushing the QB

He was still projected to be a top draft pick after the season when he declared and signed with an agent.

I'm sure he thought he'd do better in the combine/pro-day.

Well let's be honest here. If the dude would have had another lackluster year he might be lucky to get drafted

He's had some stuff he's been dealing with. I wonder if we'll ever get the real story about his time at LSU.

Given the lack of explosion he demonstrated on the vertical and the lack of straight-line speed God help him if he decides to do the shuttle run

Perhaps he should add back the 50 pounds he lost in transition into a tackle.

As an LSU fan, I want to see all former Tigers succeed in the NFL.

That said, any GM who takes Key in the first round is a fool. Too many questions and too many red flags. He has the talent to be great but seems to have the mindset of a complete bust.
