My original Nintendo finally bit the dust

Turned it on last night and nothing. Started smoking from the AC adapter port. I think it's fried. Never been worked on at all. Never even had the pins replaced.
With the exception of a few years in the 90s when I first got SNES and N64, it's been played regularly since the mid 80s.
Kinda sad.
Think your PS4 or XBone will make it 30+ years?

Open it up and see whats wrong on the board. Could be a capacitor which is a fairly simple fix.

I have another original console back in storage. I'm not positive it's fully functional, I'll be able to check that out this weekend. If not, I'm gonna research and see if maybe I can do an easy repair. If that doesn't work then I may just have to spring for like a modded top loader
My biggest concern is I hope it didn't fry the Everdrive cartridge that was in there. That's more expensive than the console and the shipping direct from the creator in the Ukraine takes weeks.

Probably not even 10 years. I'm surprised though that my 2009 model PS3 is still mostly running strong.
