Roseau cane is really disappearing

I'm really surprised this hasn't recieved more attention because the rate of land disappearing into open water in the Venice area has been staggering over the last year.

The new york times did an article about this exact topic about 3 weeks ago. Id say its getting national attention. It is a massive problem

Thanks for the pics. Scale is really difficult to treat in more controlled areas like residential properties. I don't see how anyone will be able to stop the spread in the marsh given how much it has infested already and the difficulty applying product with wind and other environmental conditions. I hope the big brains get this figured out but it doesn't look good.

Man we have had multiple posts on here over the last two years on it, I know as someone who has hunted and fished down there for years I have commented on several.

Please keep posting it however as we need more to see, from what I am told egg count per stalk on the rosseau canes this spring is 150-300 per stalk up from 10-50 last spring. I think it's over down there. No one has a solution and burning it isn't an option due to all the well heads down there.

I hope I am wrong but I think we are totally screwed down there.

What's more troubling is one of our only viable solutions is to introduce another invasive species of cane.
