Why is it a problem that gymnastics is successful? It’s stupid to try and compare their success to other sports.

Not sure why it's a bad thing that our gymnastics program is that successful,
Every school goes through period where certain sports programs are more successful than others
While gymnastics may have been one of the most successful programs of all of LSU sports over the last 3 years we have other really successful stints. Baseball was in the World Series final last year. Softball has gone to the World Series 3 times in a row now trying for four. Men's basketball saw tremendous improvement this year, Beach volleyball a relative new program already in the top 10.
I hope to see Football have this success soon but it doesn't make it a bad thing that LSUs gymnastics program has been this dominant. Back to back national runner up and defending conference champions is a ridiculously hard accomplishment no matter what the sport is
Don't know why fans make this a big deal and can't be happy that one of our programs is this successful.

I think your missing the point. No one is saying gymnastics being great is a bad thing its pointing out that the current state of LSU athletics is not very good.

meh I would not say that.

Have they gotten to the point where they can pay their own way yet or are they still needing those “fallen” sports to carry them?

Basketball has one of the best young coaches in the country.
Baseball was in the CWS finals last year.
Softball is in the top 10.
Gymnastics is a perennial top 10 squad and just won another conference championship.
Football, as much as I dislike the head coach, is a top 25 program.
Golf also has been very good.
I'm not sure which athletics program you've been following, but it doesn't seem to be LSU.

Congrats to Gymnastics. I think every tiger fan is happy about it.
However the suggestion that LSU is a gymnastics school or that there is more interest in gymnastics than the big 3 is comical. And frankly why these posts do more harm than good.
So YAYYY for gymnastics, but the interest in football, baseball and basketball is and always will be far greater

This is one of the dumber threads ever posted here, and that is saying something.

When i say current i mean as of current or previous season.
LSU basketball - little over 500 out of NIT in 2nd round.
LSU football - 9-4 lost bowl game
LSU baseball - currently will be out of top 20 when polls come out.

Sorry these are the money makers for LSU . The rest count but these 3 are what pay the bills. Baseball still has a chance to turn it around but currently struggling. I would Hope LSU fans would like to be top 5 instead of top 25 in most sports @ LSU. Thats all im saying.

People make these threads to troll. We know LSU is not a gymnastics school, we know LSU is not a softball school, but please stop using these troll threads to piss on programs that represent the school in the best way possible. Top programs in their respective sports, phenomenal in the classroom, and loads of community service hours in Baton Rouge.
We KNOW Football, Men's Basketball, and Baseball are the big deal sports in BR. However, that does not make what these ladies are doing any less impressive or should be appreciated any less.

It's as if we've never seen a baseball team turn it around in April and May before.

I can’t lie. I’ve enjoyed women’s gymnastics more than any other LSU sport in the last couple of years.
