Once you adjust the data a tad...
Temps adjusted 2.5 degrees
Temps adjusted 2.5 degrees

Here's the key takeaway:
quote:
Most of these adjustments are due to simply making up data. Every month, a certain percentage of the 1,218 United States Historical Climatology Network (USHCN) stations fail to report their data, and the temperature gets estimated by NOAA using a computer model. Missing data is marked in the USHCN database with an “E” – meaning “estimated.” In 1970, about 10% of the data was missing, but that number has increased to almost 50%, meaning that almost half of the current adjusted data is fake.

There are some fancy new statistical methods that allow analyses to move forward despite missing data. However, they are not fully tested, proven, or understood. Also, best case scenario they yield an answer with relatively small bias but large variance, but in general you can expect a minimum of moderate bias due to imprecision and large variance due to approximation. Either way, when you are missing 50% of the data, there is no respectable statistician that would ever tell you to rely on such an analysis.

So they use computer models to plug in today's temps to figure out what tomorrow's temps will be. They've been wrong every time and always estimating on the high side - sometimes spectacularly wrong.
So do they now they use the same models to "predict" what the temperatures should have been at various times in the past. Why do they even need past temps at all? Just measure the temp today, plug in the CO2 measurements, and use the model to tell us what the temps were at any time in history.

Why not just leave missing data out and go with the sample you have?

The missing data points which have to be "estimated" seem to be considerably warmer than the reported data.
I wonder if all the data sensors are breaking because of the extreme heat?

This is a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet’s climate system into a tail-spin of epic destruction.
A tailspin of epic destruction, people!

This isn't really news, they do this same thing for areas on the globe where there is no sensor coverage, which is most of the oceans, much of Africa, pretty much all the large and either backward or hard to reach areas on the planet. All of these places, they just insert the data from their model, which has the warning they want to see, into the data set and weight it the same as measured data. When they show you the scary picture of the world and where it's getting hottest fastest, more often than not there is no actual measured data from those areas.

The adjustments being made almost perfectly match atmospheric CO2 levels – showing that the data is being altered precisely to match global warming theory.
Nice. The only way weather scientists can be right is by back filling data that perfectly matches their hypothesis.

I now believe in global warming....cooling.....raining.....snowing.....change.......what was the question again?

Damn. It's like you have ESP. Mind. Blown.

That's just insane. It's 2018. For God's sake, just go by the temps that were reported by the local weatherman. How hard is that?!?
