Yep. I don’t have time to find right now, but you can go and read some of the articles when he was first hired and they talked background on him. Cody Worsham may have it in his big piece on Wade that he did during the season too.
But basically he has done research on just about everything that effects a player physically, mentally, and emotionally, and that includes sleep patterns, ideal sleep times and temperature. He is a VERY detailed person, which is what contributes to him being so successful.

Exactly. WW has to change the culture. I like it. LSU was picked to finish last in the SEC this season. Didn't finish last.

That could be quite possible. Read an article years ago that Gerry Dinardo decided to ease up and go light on the practices leading up to the Independence bowl vs Notre Dame. We won that game and some players quoted in the article said their legs were always tired leading up to games but that their legs were fresh for the Independence Bowl game. Intensity is good but legs should be saved when possible during practice.

Extreme Practices
before a game.
We suffer from talent and THE CULTURE is changing, but if, I said IF, we are doing extreme practices the day of, or the day before, It will affect performance, specially when you are the underdog and wanting to play above your level, as in the tournament.

They were competitive in a number of road games this season, and won 3. They weren't great on the road, no doubt, but to claim they "have no clue" is ridiculous. Teams struggle on the road, young teams more-so.

I've wondered that same thing. But, these guys are 20 yr olds and 24 hours to recuperate is enough time. Not saying there won't be some fatigue, but I don't think fatigue has been the problem. I think intensity has been the problem. There's been games they came out playing like garbage and then picked it up when they got behind. That's not fatigue, that's intensity. Last night I think was a combination of negatives that all came to a head in one game. 2 players sick, lack of intensity in the beginning, the other team was playing their best and the elevation. The thinner air up in Utah can have adverse effects on players not use to it. But, in the words of Uncle Willie Wade, "the Calvary is coming!!!"

There's stories of Jordan working out hard in the hours before an NBA game and Bird running laps in the concourse 3 hours before a game AFTER doing intensive workouts. These kids can get into that kinda shape where it won't hurt them a whole lot. Problem like many have pointed out, is a cultural one. WW is changing that one day at a time.

I'll agree that we want our basketball team to be conditioned, but not warn out. If you start the game with fatigued muscles you have already given the opponent an advantage & increased your chances of injury. Also, that track comparison does work here because most runners train hard and then rest before the meets. Fresh legs win.

Probably going to get bashed for talking football in this thread, but since you brought it up and its relevant to the fresh legs... One of the first things Coach O changed to raise moral & gain an edge was cut practice time. The players responded by kicking mizzou arse. Cutting practice time during the season or even just reps for the starters only works if your team is already conditioned and knows how to practice without beating each other up (NFL style).

Negative I go to a lot of practices he's aware of how long it takes for them to get their legs. Days before games are just walkthroughs compared to reg practice days. They do get after them good on those days
