I thought "Charlie" was his son?

straight up confession no and then I would have taken the glove off. It was straight up I don't remember taking the glove off but I must have because they found it.

I think Bob Costas said it best on the Dan Patrick show one time.

"once you murder someone all bets are off to what you might normally do."

or something like that.

Your posts are sometimes very interesting to read but when you lose perspective you really run off the rails.

FWIW I agree with you that OJ is a horrible guy that killed two people. His celebrity trial probably did substantially amplify racial animus but that's about the end of where I can find common ground. Judge Ito alone might have prevented what harm the OJ trial caused simply by preventing the trial from being our first major reality television event.

Los Angeles was already a seething cauldron. There clearly were problems within the Los Angeles police department and there clearly were problems with both severe crime and urban blight that impacted the way even a better police force would have been able to act. The Rodney King and Reginald Denny beatings were very fresh on people's minds. Race riots in multiple cities around the country had happened in prior decades. OJ didn't create any of that.

The 24/7 news cycle was already pumping. Celebrity obsession with killers was already present (Manson, Patty Hearst, and Son of Sam were already household names). OJ didn't create that obsession.

The roots of Black Lives Matter, White Privilege, the substitution of race for class as primary indices of oppression to rail against were already being institutionalized in universities around the country. The misbehavior of major intellectuals in this area is something for them to be called to account for - not OJ.

The trial also highlighted terrible aspects of the American legal system that OJ can hardly be blamed for - nor his lawyers be blamed for in his case any more than the many other cases they represented before OJ. The system does suck and produce highly unequal results on the basis of how good the respective lawyers are for each party. It also should have highlighted the danger of allowing the unfettered right of the press to interfere with the right of the accused and the aggrieved parties to a fair and speedy trial. But OJ didn't create any of that either.

To your point it was basically black people giving white people a big frick YOU, we got some power now and this is our reparation for Rodney King. Gil Garcetti ensured that OJ would get off. Hopefully he gets eaten with cancer like Kardashian and Cochran.

Marcia Clark allowed 8 black women on the jury.

The state and defense only have a limited amount of “strikes”, for a jury.

I read the book when it came out and it detailed most of the same information. The book was bad enough, but that interview last night was sickening. I really wonder what OJ’s kids are thinking now. I can’t even imagine how Nicole and Ron Goldman’s feel now.

If I'm the Goldman dad, if I ever get a terminal illness, the first thing I do is head to Vegas and shoot OJ before I die.

Speaking of Kardashian, didn't they make him OJ's attorney in order to sweep everything OJ told him under attorney-client privilege? I remember reading some story that he walked out of OJ's house with a bag and the Goldmans/Browns were notified years later that Kardashian had left them a package in his will or something. Then at the last minute Kris backed out of the deal.

Almost sounds like a made up internet story.

The narcissism that is the Internet? All on you OJ. Black Lives Matter and white privilege? Come on out OJ. A celebrity running for President? Obama couldn’t have done it before OJ.

Pretty big reaches, especially the narcissism on the internet, I'm not sure how you even come up with a connection to OJ there

It's amazing (sort of) that with all the crazy people around doing crazy acts of violence that no one has decided to off OJ "just because". I mean, wouldn't it be more appealing to off OJ than some random innocent person or God forbid schoolchildren?

I didn't watch this Fox special because I feel like we tackled the vast majority of the OJ deal in the 30 for 30 doc.

But did he address the Marcus Allen deal in this special?

He reactivated his law license so he could be on his team which protected everything they said.

He got it out front of OJ's house. OJ got out of the car returning from Chicago holding a bag. Police took it. Forget who, but a woman had another bag. The 2 talked for a few and slowly it became in RK's possession.

When he's clear....he walks away with it. He says he never looked inside and I believe that. He didn't want to believe his buddy was guilty.

Footage can be watched on netflix....Kardashian: The Man Who Saved O.J. Simpson

he wasn't. he just wasn't proven not guilty.

You mean he wasn't proven guilty.

As far as the societal effects, while there was obviously a racial divide before, I think it's safe to say that it did a lot to worsen it significantly. From my perspective then as a college aged white guy, it really opened my eyes to how bad things were to see a jury fail to convict given the evidence and horrific acts involved, seemingly only because the accused was black and a celebrity pro athlete.

I mean, seeing riots and street violence from racial tension is one thing, but seeing racial bias lead to a jury ignoring the evidence, the gory details and the devastating effect on the families was quite another thing.
