The administration is placing a 25 percent tariff on all steel, and 10 percent on aluminum across the board.
“We have to protect & build our Steel and Aluminum Industries while at the same time showing great flexibility and cooperation toward those that are real friends and treat us fairly on both trade and the military,” the president tweeted early Thursday.

I’m wondering when he imposes them on Mexico and Canada for them being used as a pass-through by countries such as China to evade tariffs.

This is likely to be challenged at the WTO. It's giving preferential treatment to Canada and Mexico, while others that have most favored nation status with the US aren't receiving it. There has to be something else with these tariffs, and don't say national security--even though it has already been said.

It seems like, to my simple mind, that now that Trump has openly said he will do this, he now has cause to get something out of China to not go through with this. Not sure why the liberal news outlets, hell even the conservatives, do not see this.
Trump has proven over and over and over to make his starting position so extreme that when he moves, the other side gets a raging boner and forgets what they have just given up.
