Heading to Boulder in August and will be driving down on Monday afternoon for an early morning Tuesday climb. Any suggestions on where to stay the evening before the ascent? Heading back to Boulder as soon as we’re done.

Manitou springs is at the foot of the mountain. Garden of the God's is right there too.

Given all of the 14ers around CO, in addition to dozens of other incredible hikes, why is Pikes Peak so popular?
I have a friend who goes out there with a group from LA every year to climb Pikes Peak and it seems to be a crowd favorite.
Not trying to be snarky, just wondering if anyone could chime in on what sets Pikes Peak apart? Challenge, views, easy access?

We stayed at the Outlook Lodge. It was top 2 of places we stayed in our 2 week road trip through the region.

stayed at a vrbo place in the "old colorado city" area. it was a great area with a view of pikes peak. several restaurants, coffee shops, and bars within easy walking distance. Manitou Springs has some decent looking places as well but a little more crowded.
