They shop for you and deliver if you want. Among the stores are Rouse's, Costco and Petco. You don't have to be a member of Costco to order from there. Starts this Thursday.

What's the markup on this and how fast?

How has Instacart not been in New Orleans before now? They've been around a while at this point.

I can see using that in a pinch when I am busy but I like to goto Costco, as long as it's early enough in the morning.

It takes forever for stuff to make its way down here

Will they bring me my Costco samples?
Posted on 3/6/18 at 11:45 am to Stadium Rat
Or I'll just go to the store and buy it myself.

Being a germaphobe I don't touch that shite. To answer you question, of course.

How do you justify dining out?

Don't think about it. There are degrees of disdain. Can't control that. Can pass on the public touching and sneezing on a bunch of samples.

I probably wouldn't use it because I secretly love grocery shopping, but this is pretty neat.

I’m the same way. I actually enjoy grocery shopping (most of the time).
But whenever I go it seems like 50% of the people there are wearing Instacart t-shirts, so clearly there’s a market for it.

So its only a 6 dollar fee? Do you also tip the person that comes?

I looked into it a couple days ago. From what I saw, there is a way to wave the service fee and opt to tip instead..? That doesn't seem right, but I noticed lots of employees said they tell people this when they deliver because a lot of people assume the service fee goes to the employee when it doesn't. The employee forums made it sound like they really rely on tips and in cities where they aren't getting tipped, a lot of them quit.
Based on what I read, it is a lot like Uber where employees aren't making nearly what they did at the beginning, due to the app hiding/discouraging tips and still charging a service fee. So just keep in mind you might be getting Uber-level employees.

Yeah it’s 6 plus tip. Unless I was in an absolute jam it’s not worth it to me. I kind of like grocery shopping

CVS is also one of the participating stores.

I feel like most samples are unpackaged, cooked immmediately if applicable, and then devoured in minutes by customers.

Same here. I have never seen them sitting around and usually can watch them come out of the packaging and straight to me by someone wearing gloves. Not sure where the sneezing and such is coming from.
