I'll say it again "sit Cabrera when Watson returns to CF"? You must fricking nuts or don't know what the shite your looking at. Your OF should be Antoine in RF Watson in CF & Cabrera in LF. That's the talent and Webre as your next up. DH the other Jordan, like I said leave the other Jordan on 1st for now until Smith comes back from his injury then move Jake to 1st. DH the Jordan's or sub them late in the game. Pawl won't do this because their seniors.

So you want Bain to the bench?

Not at all but you can't DH everybody. Someone has to sit. Bain has been hitting the crap out of the ball.

See what happens the closer this team gets to SEC play and we get healthy again, I really believe this team will surprise.

Right... so why is Bain your choice...

Cabrera is a better outfielder than Beau, there's no denying that, but LF is a blackhole position where you can get away with playing the better hitter and right now, that's Beau.

Yeah right now Beau is leading the team in almost every offensive category. No way he sits.

I honestly think Bain and Cabrera will end up platooning depending on the pitcher. No way that the Jordan brothers dont start the majority of games in the SEC when the time comes. And it obviously makes it hard to plug them in certain postitions, but it’s clear Paul is grooming Bryce hard at 1B right now. He can then put Beau at DH when Cabrera plays LF and put Beau at LF when Bain DH’s.

With the whole Smith/Hughes SS ordeal... thats more complicated. If Slaughter gets his bat back like shown in the last 2 games, it would be hard to sit him, but there is still time to see who is more valuable with Slaughter vs Hal in the long run of the season. (Being that Josh Smith can play either on the left side of the infield).

Bottom line, We have a shite LOAD of depth this year and I havent even mentioned Coomes and Reid who are SOLID players off the bench that would start on most other teams in the SEC.

He will be eligible this season and will be a pretty high draft pick barring injury.
agreed. Whoever downvoted you has no idea. Hess has the velocity on fastball and the nasty breaking ball to be a high draft pick. Especially with his size. He could be a deadly guy out of the pen in the majors which I see him becoming, personally.

Overall, the Jordans are not liabilities.... they are the heart and soul of this team and they hit the ball well. If course their defense is slightly a liabilty of course, but they wont be one the bench when the season evolves. Theres just no way (unless they slump into oblivion).

Also Cabrera will not be on the bench unless he slumps into oblivion as well. Dude will only go up from here.

It will be tough to see who will be on the short end of the stick at the later part of the season when we have to pick the “perfect” lineup Paul always sticks to when shite gets real. With that said, I think Paul will platoon a lot of stuff considering our depth if everyone is still competing.

BOTTOM LINE: This is a good problem to have in the field/batting. We need to be more worried about our pitching depth at this point.

Love him in the Friday night role. I think a guy like Hess relishes that kindve spotlight and can raise his game knowing he’s the ace and is usually going against the other teams best pitcher. I think it was a smart move by CPM, alphas like Hess can just elevate their game when they have that bigger role.

Yeah he is clearly our ace. It showed tonight (last night technically), but I hope he can contain the required stamina of a starting pitcher while maintaining his velocity. That will go a long way for his future if he can contain the arm strength through 80 pitches. (Throughout the year)

Yep we’ll have to keep our fingers crossed and see how it goes but so far so good. At least he was able to increase his workload from last week so the first sign is a good one. If he can give us your average Friday night starter type innings for the entire year it will be huge for this team. We know he’s got the stuff and if he’s able to maintain it not only will it give us that Friday anchor but it’ll take pressure off of the other starters and also give them a confidence boost knowing that the Friday game is a likely win. I keep saying that this team could be a perfect fit for CPM, he’s a master at finding the right mix to put great defenses on the field. If Hess is stable I think he’ll find the right combination at the backend of the rotation to get what he normally does defensively. This offense isn’t even settled yet and already looks like it could be one of if not the most explosive he’s had and if you pair that with what CPM does best we could be in for one hell of a ride this season.

at this time, I agree with you. the SEC schedule will tell us that of course. I noticed one thing, every team we play starts a lefty. we are going to have a lot of experience in facing lefties and that's a good thing.

I like Slaughter at third and Cabrera in RF.

I also like Jordon on first so far. Broussard has started hot at second but I wouldn't mind seeing Hughes there is he cools off. as far as Webre goes I just haven't seen him enough to be impressed. what have I missed?

Because Ronnie Rantz said so on the Hester show.

I still see Hess becoming a STUD closer in the majors. He’s untouchable for 2 innings almost always. He needs to be our ace this year for LSUs personnel.

All I know is that CPM will have some tough decisions to make once Smith comes back. Not so much Watson.
Cabrera is good in right field, has better arm than anyone else out there, so defensively, he would be my choice. Offensively, How do you take Beau out, guy is killing the ball.
Now that Jake's hitting has come around, he may move to 1st base. I don't see Hughes coming out, unless his bat disappears. Then put Smith at 3rd. DH would be lefty/righty vs pitcher of the day.
Tough decisions, but good 1's to have. CPM has some talent to plug n play.

I'm well aware. I don't freak out when a pitcher doesn't look perfect in one outing. Storz and Labas will hopefully give us some help. I still like Cam, if he can figure things out. If he is throwing strikes, his stuff makes him a top 3 pitcher on this staff. I like how he pulled himself out of bad situations Tuesday. Hopefully he continues getting better each start and can be a solid long weekend reliever come SEC play.
