The stat was school shootings, not mass shootings. You're being just as "fake news" as you're saying the media is.
They were shootings at schools. The breakdown wasn't really that egregious. It was posted a month or so ago.
But didn’t they include in that “school shootings” stat things like a empty school bus parked in an off school parking lot having it’s window shot out by a kid with a pellet gun?

One involved a closed campus (meaning they don’t use it for school anymore but the district still owns the property) where a guy committed suicide in the parking lot. They called that a school shooting as well

And you know that is exactly what people are doing and talking about here, but you are being obtuse just for the sake of arguing.
No it just literally has nothing to do with the thread. The title says a shooting at Central Michigan. Doesn't say school shooting doesn't say mass shooting. It just says a shooting occurred at a particular location.
Everyone is trying to get all riled up about school and mass shootings when they've literally just conjured it up in their own heads.

I thought the bus was loaded?

Most people know how to read and can realize that a shooting at a school, is by default, a school shooting. I really thought at first you just liked to argue, but I really think you have no concept of context and inference.

Oh this is the part where a bunch of people can't just admit they shoehorned some media agenda about school and mass shootings into a thread about neither of them so they say I'm just arguing to argue.

I could be wrong but I beleive I heard the bus was empty and parked in a lot somewhere off campus.

Well you're good at it nonetheless

I think he's trying to catch SFP. Without looking, I bet he's got 4000 posts this year already.
I guess it's what you do with your spare time when your new bride kicks you out.

I like how the OP disappeared and won't post updates.

Probably not a mass shooter then. Probably just a carjacking or something not worth the news coverage. We only care about mass shootings now. Run of the mill shootings are too routine.

This country can't handle another school shooting. The flag is already at half staff for Billy Graham. What are they going to do; lower it to 1/4 staff? Raise it?
Posted on 3/2/18 at 9:32 am to TH03
Isn’t Central Michigan a school?

And the reason school shootings were brought it was to complain that they're calling everything a school shooting these days. They were saying this was one of those dumb incidents that will be labeled a school shooting. So you are now labeling it a school shooting.

Neither. It costs too much taxpayer money.

Less School Shootings Now Than in the 90s
The deadly school shooting this month in Parkland, Florida, has ignited national outrage and calls for action on gun reform. But while certain policies may help decrease gun violence in general, it’s unlikely that any of them will prevent mass school shootings, according to James Alan Fox, the Lipman Family Professor of Criminology, Law, and Public Policy at Northeastern.
Since 1996, there have been 16 multiple victim shootings in schools, or incidents involving 4 or more victims and at least 2 deaths by firearms, excluding the assailant.
Of these, 8 are mass shootings, or incidents involving 4 or more deaths, excluding the assailant.
“This is not an epidemic”
Mass school shootings are incredibly rare events. In research publishing later this year, Fox and doctoral student Emma Fridel found that on average, mass murders occur between 20 and 30 times per year, and about one of those incidents on average takes place at a school.
