The last time I checked college stood for higher education. True, not all high school graduates want to be doctors or lawyers, but if you are going to college you have to meet the standards set for higher education. I understand that athletics have become big business and produce much revenue and because of that universities have lowered their standards and changed curriculums to accommodate many students that have no business being in college while spending thousands of dollars on tutors to keep them eligible. There is eventually going to be a breaking point because of skyrocketing salaries of coaches and the arms race. The sooner the better.

this is true but you, I and millions of others aren't going to change it. do you know that pistol pete got thrown out of LSU right after his eligibility ended? he didn't go to class and in fact never went to class. I had him in two classes that called roll and a stand in said "here" for him every class.
