Go on a diet and start exercising. Start by tracking all your meals in MyFitnessPal and at least running if nothing else.

There are a million resources on the net, your general question shows a lack of effort to even research.

GeauxxxTigers23 told me something once.

He said if you can 20 strict pullups, yeah, that sticks out.

But he said, "You know what sticks out more? Being behind everyone else on the runs."

So, yeah, I'd run.

Run, run and then run some more. I also recommend doing push-ups and sit-ups everyday. This will get you ready for Basic Training.

Now, in order to lose weight you need to cut calories. Try to remove as much sweets and simple carbs like breads and starches as you can. Stop drinking alcohol completely. Assuming you are relatively young, the weight will begin to fall off in no time.

Listen to recent David Goggins interview on Joe Rogan podcast. Perfectly on point.

50 pounds overweight according to what? The Army height/weight standards?

I ask because their standards are explicitly stated on their website. Anyway, if you're looking to join; I can't promise you this will make you lose 50 pounds overnight but you need to run.... then you need to run..... then you need to go for another run. Then, guess what, run some more.

Add body weight exercises; pushups, pullups, air squats, burpees, sprints, and keep on with this formula. Eat enough to fuel your body but colas, and unnecessary sugar are a hell no. Good luck to you. Any idea what job you'd like to do?

According the recruiter. And I’m highly considering military police because I would like to pursue a career in law enforcement.

I could do the most pull ups in my basic training flight and my MTI didn't even know until 4 days before graduation

Recruiters are trained to feed you any bullshite you want to hear.

Being an Army MP, or AF/Navy/Marines security forces isn't like being a civilian cop or meant to prepare you to be one.

Unless you are looking into federal law enforcement, then being a military cop will help with becoming CID,OSI or NCIS. Only OSI and NCIS go to FLETC though

Yea man, unfortunately most civilian law enforcement agencies don’t give a mother frick if you were military MPs. I deployed with MPs

Anyway, how old are you? Do you have a degree? I would absolutely steer you to go officer.

In this country? You're nuts, baw. Good luck though.

Should only take a month or two with good exercise and eating habits for you to knock that out. I'm assuming you're in your teens on low-mid 20's? Eat right, and do a lot of cardio and you'll be good.

That's going to be good training for basic training, but if I'm any testament, running ain't enough.

If I'm not losing weight and getting thin running half marathons, then he's not going to lose weight any time soon jogging.

Best thing to do is diet. How do you do that? I don't know.
