Looks nasty by the Houston IAH airport, 1 hr 30 min departure delays. Arrivals doing okay for now. Alexandria about to have 3 diverted flights unless they catch a break in the storms

Decent enough HRRR sounding for an area generally on 49 south of Alexandria.

Hell has to be a lot like that shitty little terminal where they stick the flights to Alexandria and Lake Charles in IAH.

Hey I was watching the diverted flights to DFW yesterday, it's just no one asked/needed help...
First diverted flight for Alexandria heading straight for baton rouge LINK

The new terminal B at IAH really isn't all that bad, plus they have the whataburger so I'll take that any day

Watch out for sleet this afternoon (or now depending on location)

yep following the storm2k thread every 5 minutes. I am sitting here @ 114 / Bush Tollway, and had a few folks in the field in Ft. Worth saying ice is coming down now.
Pretty sure any other flights out of DFW might get canceled soon.

So far we're still looking good at DFW, departure delays of 26 minutes but if there's ice/hail that will put things in a crawl immediately. Will keep an eye on the rest of the afternoon

I'll probably bump this thread later on. I have an outbound flight for tm morning @ DFW that I am dropping off my GF. That's if she even gets off the ground.

I'm going to Sandals Jamaica in 6 months, do you think I should change my plans?
Posted on 2/21/18 at 1:31 pm to 50_Tiger
What's the destination? AA usually allows tracking of the inbound flight on their website and also flightaware. If she's going to a small place like Baton Rouge or Alexandria, then those regional flights are usually the first to cancel with inclement weather. Bigger planes, less likely to cancel

I'd really like to not get caught up in a Tornado today.

She's flying into Atlanta. We will be watching the AA app throughout the night. Today is her birthday so we're trying to not let the weather ruin it. Having dinner at a nice steak joint.

Exactly, enjoy today and worry about this tomorrow. AA won't even know their DFW operations for tomorrow until late tonight once they figure out if planes/crews are in place and if there's ice. As of now the 6am and the 8:45am flights are supposed to have their inbound flights arrive tonight which would be great. If she's on the 10:26am that flight comes in from Nashville tomorrow and lands at 9:30am.
