What's the word on Austin Deculus?

Early enrolee last year and haven't heard much about him. He was extremely physical in high school. Thought he would be a good guard for us.

He had a ton of hype before the season

He'll get a good bit of PT this year.
ETA:
The word on him was physically great, but needed to better learn the offense. Now he'll be starting from scratch with new OC and OL coach like everyone else.
By "the word", I mean people stealing pay site stuff and posting it here.

Just because he didn’t start as a freshman doesn’t mean he won’t be good for us.
OL is 1 of the harder positions to transition from high school to college. Give the kid time to develop.
And again, he was a freshman this past season.
Edit: looking at the player participation on LSU sports, it says he played in every game last season. So it’s not like he didn’t see the field.

He got some playing time last year as a true freshman. What do you expect a Lombardi award his first year?

I haven't heard much about him. I was really high on him and according to Grimes Charles and Ingram were 2 of the best freshman he ever coached. Traore probably starts at tackle. That leaves one other Guard spot. Lewis looks to be more ready to start as a juco. People on here act like I am overreacting. Just a simple question.

He played a lot last season.

He played several positions for us up front offensively last fall as a true freshman and played well with the exception of a few snaps vs Florida. He’ll be a stud

On the Depth Chart he is listed as the Starting RT.

What depth chart are you looking at? I haven't seen anything other than the dandy Don one

Dandy Don way too early Depth Chart but should be his position.

Coming along nicely. He's operating from the standpoint that it's his OT job to lose and Traore is trying to take it from him (a good thing). Not that he needed to 're-dedicate' himself, he just needed some time.
That spot playing time, inside and out, did him alot of good. It didn't take him long to realize that where he was lacking and went to work on it.
I hope he keeps playing some time at both inside and out, OTs converted to OGs work alot better than the opposite. And we could use it, he could use it. Snaps are snaps.
He seemed befuddled at times at OT, he was simply not used to some of the moves and line schemes the defense used. Experience is necessary to fix some of that. He's getting it.

He doesn't have good balance but is very strong when the new Ol coach gets a hold of him he's gonna be a beast

He'll be somewhere in the two deep on one of the better oline units we've had in a while.

Presumably the offense will be easier for the line without all the shifts.

On paper this is our most talented o-line since 13.

Of note I think it's going to be one of the things Traore will have to work on too. His posture/stance was pretty bad. Many of the guys he'll be up against will use it to its full extent... over, and over, and over.
Fixable in an offseason for both.

And most talented front 7 on defense since 2011

I'm giddy at the thought of LSU being healthy and full of depth on both lines.

I thought Magee played better than Deculus. Deculus was supposed to start against Florida, but they went with Magee and he looked like the better tackle.
