I really don't think you can take anything away from AD not trying in the All Star game. He won MVP last year and knows he needs to be rested with Indy screwing the Pels like they did.

AD on not playing at the end of the game: I didn't think I was (on a minutes restriction), but, hey, we won. So I'm happy about that. It's an All-Star Game, so I don't get caught up in that. Now, if it was the #Pelicans it would be a little different. But, I don't get caught up.

AD on the bunched up schedule in March: "I've never been a part of it (3 games in 3 nights), since AAU basketball. I know they did it a lot in the lockout year. We'll see how it goes, but it'll be big time attrition and it's about taking care of your body."

AD wasn't certain if he would have to sit out one of those games, with six in eight days. He said he'll see how his body feels. "We are fighting to get into the playoffs, so have to be mindful of that but don't want to put too much stress on my body."

I don't think he was either. I think they wanted to win, and he clearly didn't deserve to be out there to close the game out.

And i know i shouldn't take anythign away from an all star game, but just about everyone else was really trying, and AD gave minimal effort. The last game we played AD watched guys go at the rim and literally stood there and watched, never challenging them. In an all star game, you see Westbrook flying from behind to block a shot, Durant and Embiid getting blocks at the rim, Lebron jumping over Embiid for a rebound, and a host of other players fouling people driving to the goal, and AD looked content on letting anyone get to the rim without a challenge. That's why he sat on the bench at the end, on top of missing half the passes thrown to him.

ALl that being said, i'm glad he didn't try too hard and go and get himself hurt. I'll chalk up his lack of want to play to that.

Incorrect, AD! You played on three straight days in the 2012 SEC tournament!

Boom.
