Different birds eat different seeds. I use Wagner’s Greatest Variety. I have house finches, goldfinches, cardinals, chickadees mostly with occasional visits from other types. Doves and squirrels like it too. Seems to work alright.
If you only use 1 type of seed, you will get a very small variety of birds.
