re: So I agree banning guns won't fix the problem

why did this not happen so frequently 20, 30, 40 years ago?
It’s simple. God was taken out of schools and public institutions.
We started our day, when I was in school, with the pledge of allegiance and a moment of silence. Sin was a very real thing and moral character, individualism and patriotism were stressed every single day.
The left tore down Christianity in schools to push the queer shite. The teaching of Christianity stressed families, the father being responsible for his wife and children, the one man-one woman and sex within the confines of marriage were staples of society and Christian teachings. The left had to tear down this in order to justify its position on homosexuality and abortion.
The left also had university professors push atheistism to impressionable kids and made it cool to be an atheist. This caused there to be no limits on what a person feels is moral. A moral less society has been created to give credence to the lefts position on homosexuality and abortion, to cover for the complete breakdown of the black family and its anti religion stance of communist doctrine.
If these kids had Christ in their lives, as we did in the past, these things would not be happening. I’m not saying being Jimmy Swaggard type over the top type shite but having the moral teaching of Christ and love and respect for individuals taught in class and at home.
What we are seeing is the results of Christianity being stigmatized and systematically removed from society by liberals with a communist agenda.

Translation: when MY kid gets their brains splattered onto the classroom wall we can have a reasonable discussion. Until then, carry on.
1. I don't have kids.
2. I have lost a family member and friends to gun violence.
Sell your garbage somewhere else.

Great. Let's make it illegal to shoot kids in schools. Problem solved.

The hysteria and menstruating in this thread is embarrassing.

I'll add, if you'd like to have a reasonable discussion, I'm willing to let you start over.
One-time offer...

I didn't say that, but if you're going to make a point, you should at least be able to support it.
Hopefully you see how terrible your point was, because that was really the goal.

That’s a lot of jibberish that nobody believes, “I don’t link”, sure thing man. Also, dig??? Are you implying it’s hard to find now?
And lastly, “never been a reasonable conversation about gun violence” is moving the goal posts and you know it. How about an ounce of honesty for a change? It’s almoat like you’re arguing against a position I was never representing......

Depends. Is digging a hard task for you? I would say no, but I won't speak for you.

I would genuinely love to see a pragmatic well supported convo/thread on this board, if it exists i haven’t seen it (link?).

No, I didn't.
I was making a point that it's already illegal, similar to how it's illegal to commit terrorist acts in this country.
You thought you had a point. You didn't. End of story.

- Provide police presence at schools. As mentioned by another poster earlier in the week, possibly create a police substation at each school.
- Harden schools. Allow access only through manned control points. Require students to electronically badge into schools and into different sections of the school. Scan any bags that come into school.
- Carefully study tactics of mass murderers in public settings. Design exercises to address lessons learned.
- Permit teachers to concealed carry. Ensure they are extensively trained before hand. Execute drills.
- Equip each classroom with removable barricade devices.
All of this will cost money and be an inconvenience. We have to have the will to do what is necessary.

You're confused.

The odds of your kid dying in a shooting at school are over 1 in 3 million.
Care to take a guess at the odds of dying to a terrorist refugee?
There you go.

I didn't assume anything. I went off what you responded to, and your response. See above.

30k+ posts on a board that you don’t care if anyone thinks you’re full of shite or not? Congrats, you’re cptbngl 2.0.
Jk jk. That guy is in a league of his own. Truthfully, I think you’re a solid poster and I think we agree about most things, this being the one big exception (that I know of). Or maybe it just feels that way because we’re both going against the grain most of the time...

Fundamental problem in the United States is the breakdown of the family. From reports I understand this Nik Cruz was the product of a broken family. Divorce is devastating to a child, especially to teenagers. Without the stabilizing presence of a fully engaged set of parents most likely a young teenage boy or girl will often spiral out of control. I've seen my share of sad stories of kids who never really recovered from the loss of a parent through divorce. Sometimes grandparents can step in and help a divorced single mother (or father) with some support and stability, but realistically children of divorced parents never really recover from the devastating loss.
Want to know the real tragedy? The destruction of the traditional family (a man and a woman in a covenant relationship) was deliberate. Just plain diabolical. No other way to describe it.

I don't know, man. I just know that you can't be sarcastic and snide, and then claim you're looking for a reasonable discussion. It doesn't work that way.
