I'm also not saying it would be 100% effective but I do think of Arkansas where a student brought a firearm onto campus and was met by the principal who was also armed and never opened fire. I think it would honestly make some students think twice before opening fire on a school.

This is silly considering most of these mass shooters have a death wish.

Not sure they do, how many have actually died? I think most want the attention, however, as I think of Arkansas they knew they wouldn't get the attention because they were gunned down before they could become relevant.

Most of them were dead by the end of the event. Harris and Klebold, Paddock, Lanza, Mateen, etc.

Cruz and Aurora guy were rarities.

You know you’re wrong. Arguing that arming teachers wouldn’t end these attacks is pointless. So, keep making derogatory comments. You’re doing well with that.

Just want to remind everyone that NO students were killed today in a mass shooting. Nor yesterday. Nor last week. Or the week before.
So while the events of Wednesday were horrific, like a plane crash it’s not really the norm. Maybe everyone should retake a break from brainstorming how to fix something that is a rarity.

This is so absurd I shouldn’t be responding. Did you even go to school? Let me guess, you make fun of teachers on here like everyone else for being people who “couldn’t do.” Do you think your 10th grade hippie English teacher would be handy with a Glock G19? What are the chances that, if she had to use it, she’d end up killing some poor kid within 6 ft of the target?

Why would you assume she wouldn't be trained, hence the point of the OP that you train individuals to actually use these weapons.

The FBI has ramped up its use of sting operations in terrorism cases, dispatching undercover agents to pose as jihadists and ensnare Americans suspected of backing ISIS, aka the Islamic State, Daesh, or ISIL. On Thursday, roughly 67% of prosecutions involving suspected ISIS supporters include evidence from undercover operations, according to The New York Times.

They're manufacturing terrorism cases," Michael German, a former undercover agent with the FBI who now researches national-security law at New York University's Brennan Center for Justice, told The Times. "These people are five steps away from being a danger to the United States."

Downs also said that the FBI often targets particularly vulnerable people, such as those with mental disabilities. "Very often, they [the FBI] target people who are genuinely psychotic, who are taking medication," he said.

It’d be great if they were undercover as well.

Again, I have never met a teacher I would want tasked with confronting an armed combatant in a crisis situation.

No slight to the profession. Just never met one I’d want to go down that rabbit hole with.

Yes. It should be their choice if they want to have it with them, and only the principal and the SRO need to know.

Meh offer a teacher an additional 500 a year if they have current training with concealed weapon permit... cheaper than a security guard
