I don't know where this story started, booing up 20 seems odd. Here's an alternative eyewitness account telling a different story.

Boogate is the worst because the fan wasn’t even booing. He was yelling for Alvin Gentry to yank the starters up 22 w/ 4 min left after seeing AD have to leave for a bit, seeing Mirotic get whacked in the face and Julius Randle diving at people’s knees. I was sitting very close..

...heard every word. “Hey, Gentry!!! Pull the starters!!! We are up 20!!! We don’t need injuries!!! I know you can hear me!!!” All of this is fair enough. He never cursed or booed.
