I don’t like cutaways. It’s ALL in my head. Lol
It is - most acoustic players just don't need it. I primarily play my Ovation with a cut out. Mainly, I play Ovations because I don't have to worry about babying them and I'm too lazy to go get a tuner half the time.
But, my half dead Guild D-35 from 1982 sounds so much better. No cut out and I have to dig out a tuner. It needs strings now, badly.

oh crap, I just ordered one
I usually just squeeze fingers and thumb on the steering wheel while driving, especially the left pinky.
I don't know if it really helps, but I do it anyway.

My buddy has a Guild D-55 from 1973 that a moron sold him. It sounds awesome! The neck is a baseball bat though compared to what I'm used to.

it's only been a few days but I do find the ROM of my thumb is a little better but the time to get to the endpoint is much shorter--a nice warmup tool for me if nothing else

I wish I knew who you were. There are a lot of musicians around here.

Broke, I don't know where you're located, but do you know any musicians around the Ellic area? I'd like to find someone to jam with sometime.

That's a little far from me. So I guess the answer is no, I don't know any around there.

Wish I could find someone out in katy that I could subject my awful rhythm guitar to. Lol
Tough to find people or even bring up the subject “do you play?” I believe I have a couple nice guitars that you’d expect a better player to own.

This. I suck at playing, but my guitars look nice.

Yeah, I'm not so much a guitar player, but a collector.

Need some help. The first fret on my guitar makes the buzzing noise when the strings are pressed. 2nd fret plays normal along with the rest of the frets. What could possibly be the cause and how would I fix it.

Absolutely. I play a new song from there every week.

Start with learning basic chords like C, D, G and E. Look for a website that teaching you beginning strumming techniques. And use a metronome.

It's not a big deal, you can take it by a shop, and they will fix it for you in a few minutes, and it won't cost you much, that's my recommendation for this first time.Let hm set your harmonics too.
The tech will probably let you watch what he does.
Or you can try it yourself,by(very) slightly loosening the truss rod.
You should be able to find a youtube video for exactly what you need.
It's really easy. Just don't overdo it. a little bit is all you need. I usually only loosen D and G strings,to get a little room to work, and can keep checking that way.
I don't know how your truss rod is done, but there will be an Allen adjustment at the top, just above the nut,it may have a plastic cover over it,OR an exposed adjuster at the bottom of the fret board, with holes for a small screwdriver or similar tool. Use a Good brand of Allen wrench, and make sure you insert it all the way into the nut.
here are some videos

Thanks. I've looked at a couple of videos and it does seem simply. I'll try that first and if it doesn't fix it, then I'll take it back to guitar center since it is covered under warranty.

Good luck with it!
